Big Scam! Live in NV. Do not answer this # 206-684-3000

Seattle City Light Scam is still alive and well. I received a call yesterday that went to voicemail; Spoofed caller ID 206-684-3000. Woman's voice message threatening to turn off service within 30 minutes for non payment. Instructed to call 1-866-249-9205, which I believe is Canada. I did not call.

Caller ID displayed 'Seattle City Light,' but when I answered there was no immediate response. Instead, there was background noise that this was a 'boiler room' telephone call operation. After about 5 seconds, someone with a heavy accent (Indian or Pakistani) answered and asked for my name. I said you called me so you tell me who you're calling. My bulls**t radar went off so I stopped engaging and blocked the number. I found out later that it's an actual Seattle City Light telephone number so the scammer spoofed it.

Got the same call as Barb, it is a spoofed call the caller ID says 'Seattle City Of'. The caller was a male with a strong Indian accent, said that a technician was coming in 30 min to disconnect our service. I asked him which service, what address, what account #, who was billed and he said he did not have that info he was just the messenger and then I hung up on him. Guy called on a Saturday morning when city offices are closed.

Called twice today and once yesterday. Left no message yesterday; I answered the first one today and there was no reply. Second call I sent to voicemail, but again, no message. It pops up as Seattle City Light on my cell, but I'm certain it's a spoofed number.

Fake spoofed call from Seattle City Light. I don't live anywhere near Seattle and they call all the time. It's a Recording as I never pick up.

Call from City of Seattle City Light number that threatened to turn off power in 30 mins. 06/09/20

Callers from India claim they are calling from the City of Seattle. Say that your services will be disconnected in 30 minutes if they do not get payment info over the phone. When you ask to be transferred to the billing department or ask for account specifics such as account #, total amount due or bill payer name they will just hang up on you.

This number has called 3 times already today in about 15 minutes!. I didn't answer. Caller ID didn't have a name on it, just the number. I don't have Seattle City for my utilities, so there is no reason for them to be calling my any way! No message left on any of the calls.

Got a call at my place of business from this number. Male with HEAVY accent, sounded Hispanic to me but I see others making this report are saying Indian. Anyway, caller said he was Seattle City Light and asked to 'speak with the manager.' I was very suspicious, so though I AM the manager I claimed the manager wasn't in. Asked call to give me the message. The number he gave me (I couldn't understand him so I didn't write it down) was different than the caller ID number(206-684-3000 which is in fact Seattle City Light's number) and told me it was very important. Wouldn't give me his name so I hung up.

They are posing as Seattle City Light, and telling you you're either past due on your bill and need payment, or they need immediate payment to avoid your power being cut. Seattle City Light will NEVER EVER call you to tell you this. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM. Do not answer any of their questions, do not even say 'Yes' or 'No' as they can record your voice and alter it to get more of your information in other ways.Simply - Hang Up and then block their number.

Same as above, trying to collect a bill for Bellevue saying they are seattle city light

Live call saying they were going to shut off my power. They had the wrong address and hung up when I called them out on it.

Got a calls from this number 4 times today. There's very noisy background with a male voice, saying 'hello... hello...' Every time I asked, 'Who is it?'. The other side hung up. This phone appeared to be from Seattle City Light. When I looked up online, I learned that it's a scam call, not really from Seattle City Light. Very big scam. Do not give out any information. Claimed they were from Seattle city light and that technicians were on my way shortly to turn my power off even though I know I’m current with my payments. Tried to give me a claim number then Tried to get me to go to a local 7-Eleven, Walgreens, or CVS and go to a specific bill pay program and upload my information and I would save 30% off of my bill. Then when I asked directly what the closest location for Seattle city light was So I could pay directly, they could not answer and hung up. Do not fall for this.
