OMG - this man identified himself as Zack with USAA - i was sitting at my desk, on lunch, he refused to leave a message - instead he kept calling back and calling back - letting the phone ring at least 50 times each time - i finally picked up, but how unprofessional!
Caller wanted information from my USAA Credit Card including the verification numbers on the back of the card. I called USAA on their 800 number and they didn't know of any problems after checking my accounts. I believe someone is using this number to obtain information which they could use to fraudulently obtain merchandise.
Keep receiving calls from this number claiming someone withdrew money from an account and another call claiming someone withdrew $12,000 through a linked coined based account with USAA. I don't even know what that is.
Legitimate USAA. But for those reporting a complaint, be aware that most all major financial businesses have fraudsters out their pretending to be them via spoofing/porting. If ever in doubt, call the company they are pretending to be yourself.
Robocall and said I has suspicious transactions on my account resulting in 12,000 in charges and to press 1 to dispute charges. I immediately hung up and called USAA and they confirmed it was a scam call.
It's a legit call - but I can't understand why they keep calling back. I was in a meeting and could not WOULD NOT answer at that time. They called back 4 times in a row then finally left a freekin' message.
I can absolutely confirm that both 1-210-531-USAA (8722) and 1-800-531-USAA (8722) are legitimate USAA numbers and are identified on the company's web site. I am a USAA customer and have received legitimate calls from these numbers concerning my USAA insurance and banking accounts, most recently about an open insurance claim file. (Note: this form needs another option in the 'Caller Type' list: 'Legitimate.')
He said someone had stolen my identification and I had all kinds of debts against me. This involves the Social Security office. Someone has stolen my information and is using it in San Antonio Texas. He had a strong accent and I said I needed something in writing and he said he'll be sending the sheriffs over with written documents. Sounded too much like a scam to me
I did not answer but I got an insurance quote from USAA yesterday so they are following up. Please note that, especially during the pandemic, people can call your phone pretending they are calling from a legitimate company and use their caller ID as well as well as number (look up spoofing). Just trying to let those people know.
Got a robotic female call left a voice message asking me to 'please push 1 to connect with a usaa fraud specialist for disputes... press 1 for disputes'. I dont have any accounts with usaa must be a scam.
Have gotten at least one call per day from this spoofed USAA number...it's about a Coinbase charge...guess what I have not made any purchases with Coinbank and have not had any unknown charges to USAA account.SCAM
