I get calls from this number. Only silence. Except for a bleep sound.

Most debt collectors will not leave a message because there is no guarantee it will be heard only by the intended recipient. It's a privacy issue stemming from the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) of 1977.Yes, with the technology available to us today, you can block these calls. Will they NEVER call you again? Not likely. These debt collectors use the same technology consumers do. All they will do is just spoof their caller ID...over & over & over again. Yes, you can block those calls, too, but it just becomes this never ending game.Best thing any of us can do is just pay our bills in the first place. Having said that, I understand it's easier said than done in today's tough economy. All of us have fallen behind at one time or another. I came here researching this number because I got a call from this number this morning that did not leave a message. When I saw other posters saying it was Synchrony Bank, I realized they were calling about my WalMart credit card account. We just moved 3 days ago & in the confusion leading up to move, I simply forgot to pay my WalMart bill...totally my bad.

Excessive calling is a violation of the fair debt collection practices act. Report them. Credit one was calling me 9-10 times a day. Walmart only calls me once or twice. I’m reporting credit one.

Walmart Credit Card, their relentless, wont leave you a message, just repeated calls over & over. I spoke to a female & told her I cant undestand you there is a language barrier, she then hung up on me. She said she was in India.

Quote:Best thing any of us can do is just pay our bills in the first place. While that might be useful advice to those who 'simply forgot', it is not useful to those who have fallen on hard times and simply cannot pay on time. Constantly calling 2-3 times a day to a debtor who can't pay won't magically give them the ability to pay right then and there.Lets not forget about those (like me) who receive calls for someone else and have to endure the relentless harassment of debt collection callers because someone didn't pay their bills. I am not a debtor nor am I an answering service to relay messages to whomever. So while you think your little post casually stating if people just pay up, all will be well with the world, I think you should take off those blinders and look around before saying something as stupid as that.

No clue but as usual, I answered...waited a second-and did hear a gal say hello right before my thumb hit 'end call.' General rule: if they take more than a second to answer your greeting-hang up on their aszes...Saw somewhere that it was Walmart Credit, which is possible-I do have an account and have a balance that I'd love to be deleted ;-)My rule, is usually if I have a few credit cards and can pay for one of them-I choose the LEAST annoying one. So, If I have to block this call because it starts calling 5 times a day? Well, I'm no expert on credit card customer payment strategy, but apparently the Heads of that Department believe that the best way to collect late payments is to endlessly annoy the living piss outta people. I know if I owe some $$ to several companies or people, I pay the guys who I'd like to give a swift punch between the legs to first... Also-if they're late on payments, then they're probably low on money, and high on stress and anxiety. So calling over and over is definitely gonna put those in debt in a fantastic mood--->And they'll surely be likely to pay off their entire balance to you asap-just for being so awesome....Personally, it usually takes around 35 or so calls to teach me a lesson and pay up!! ;-)

I know right! Makes no sense!! Their TARDS. They dont they realize with our technology if you dont leave me a message, I will just block you & then I wont ever receive an annoying call from you again! Lol
