A woman called claiming (don't recall her name) she was from Social Security needing to verify my information to in order to complete my application. Began asking for full name, street address, birthdate, then social security number. I challenged the need for Soc Security number, she referred me to call another number to verify she she from Social Security. Searched the number instead and found this sight. Feds need to take these scammers down.

Claiming they are from Social Security Office

This number popped up on my phone saying they're from Social Security in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. I have a feeling they're not who they say they are.

Defintley scam!!!

Called me in FL at 7:59 pm at night saying they were social security office (570) 831-1296. SS would never be calling at this time of day. I told them they were a scammer - hung up and blocked this number.

claiming that needed more information on application that was just filed, asking for address, mothers maiden name and ss#.

This call went directly to my voicemail. There was no record of a missed call in my phone log. The caller identified herself as Mary. She said she was calling about my application for extra help to pay for Medicare drug prescriptions. I did not apply for extra help and I don't take any prescription drugs. The caller addressed me by name in her voicemail.

The caller ID said U.S Government, I called back and it said it was SSA, I think it's a big time fraud calling center, I'm calling tomorrow morning to report this number to my local SS office. Remember people to be aware is to be alive, don't give out any information over the phone to anyone, plus if you call your local SS office they will tell you that they will never contact you Via phone only by mail. So be aware people, God Bless!!!

says he is from Social Security and is verifying a file you have filed and that there is a problem ... he sounds very convincing

man refused to give employee id became hostile when asked to prove his employer man gave 800 number to call back with ext when i questioned him on his ext from the real 800-772-1213 could not provide i told man that i was recording him and that i would report his attempted fraud man slammed phone down. i did call social security to report

Claimed to be Jen with SSA. I called SSA and was told they NEVER contact people by phone, only by mail. I did not give out any personal info. They called back a few minutes later lookoing for more info.

A woman named Cathy called me from this number saying I missed a question on some paper from SSI. She new my name but I didn't give her any info she didn't already have. So I dunno

Play it smart, you can always tell them, EVEN if it is the SSA, that you want it in writing or for them to give you an appointment so you can see them personally, it is your legal right!! And with that I hope I can help someone not get their identity stolen or nothing bad happens to anyone. AGAIN GOD BLESS!

Talked with a person named 'Cathy Fusco'after receiving an email from ssa.com that said to call an 855 #The information she had was accurate.Said she would call or email me next week with my final number for getting my monthly social security!?!

Said I had signed up for Social Security and I had not done so.

I received the call and they needed add'l information to process my retirement application, I verified this was a legit # with the SSA, so everyone needs to calm down.

Called for name social security number and DOB

Said they were ssa but would not give me there name and had my middle name wrong

This people keep calling me, today they aired call me 3 times.

Wanted my wife's social security number

several times with different numbers i get these callssaying that my SS number is under investigation for fraudulent use and if i do not comply they will arress me currently my SS Numbers is Suspend due to activities against my SS Number for 10 Criminal counts of Fraud against the Government including - Drug Dealing - Money Laundering - and Firearms to other Countries i had no idea i was such a Criminal - come arress me for being suspend with Fraudulent Activities

Said her name was Annemarie and was calling from SS regarding my application for extra help with Medicare. She left me a voicemail saying she needed a bit more info to move the application along. I don't answer any number I don't know. She left a call back number with ext. but also said she was mailing paper stating what was needed. I decided against calling back. I was under the impression that SS never calls.

Claimed to be from SSA. I know they do not ever call. Told them that and hung up.

Called me saying they were from social security and started asking me questions that made me suspect they were not legit .called social security administration and was told they will never contact me by phone They will mail out any letters that need to be sent out to me in regards to my benefits or anything else on file in their end.

# says U.S. Government 507 831 1296, say they are asking for me to property answer question 4, as My paper work recently send it was not answered. I DID NOT SEND ANYTHING TO SOCIAL SECURITY. When I questioned her about this phone call, asked to provide my SS#, she got hostile and said we will cancel your SS benefits. I said this sound like a scam, SS does not call people provide me with my SS#. she said she could not then threaten me again. I loose you Social Security and hang up on me!!!!!!!

Asking for more information. Says she is from social security. I have heard that social security will not call and ask for information. I could not hear her name clearly, but sounded like her name was galianna?
