I just got a call from a woman at that number, who said she was with 'Heritage Financial.' She asked for a woman with my last name.I asked, 'Are you a debt collection agency?'She said, '[name of woman] would have known who we are.'I said [and this is the case] 'You've called me before asking for this person. I told you then I don't know her. I don't know her now, either.'She said, 'This is the first time I've called you...'I started to tell her I'm reporting her to the FTC for unfair debt collection practices, but she cut me off and yelled at me. Then she hung up on me.I dialed the number and got a recording from 'Heritage Acceptance Corporation.' It is after office hours [the call came in at 5:09 PM] so I got a recording. I believe this to have been a spoofed caller ID. The caller did not even know the right name of the company - Heritage Acceptance, not Heritage Financial. No one should believe anything a caller from this phone number says. It is quite clearly a group of criminals trying to get information, but if confronted, they become offensive and hang up.Next stop: File an FTC complaint against them. Let the FTC figure it out.
