I received a call from 800-955-6000 and it was Capital One, calling to remind me I missed last months payment. While I had the woman on the phone, I made my payment online, and that matter was resolved easily. BUT..... I have another credit card through Capital One. I paid it off recently, but I paid too much. It left a negative balance of over $100. I informed the woman that I would need that money back, since I had paid them too much. She told me I had to call 800-955-6600. I called the number and got a capital one recording. I had to enter my SSN because I didn't have the credit card with me to enter my account number. After I put in my SSN, the line went dead. I search the number I called, 800-955-6600 online and that's when I found all of these other complaints!! I called a REAL Capital One phone number and they had nothing to say about the 'fake' number. Hm....
