This was a legitimate call. Thanks to those who posted; I would've ignored the vm. We physically went to our bank and they confirmed a fraudulent purchase from thanksgiving. I'd at least recommend contacting your personal cardholder establishment if you get a call from this number if you don't feel comfortable returning their call.

Legit call from fraud protection. Called my credit union there were 3 fraudulent charges on my account. Credit union closed that account and gave me a new card

Was a real number.. i gave it 0 information and called my credit union at that time they said that their has been a fraudulent purchase had to shred my cards

It's a real call, someone gotten my debit card number and was making some transactions, this is the fraud protection of the bank calling to confirm some charges which were not mine.

I was suspicious of this number because it was an automated message that said there was fraud activity on my account but didn't provide the credit union name, just the last four digits of my card. So I called my credit union directly via the number on their website and app, instead of calling the number the message told me to call. Turns out there WERE suspicious charges coming from Russia. So contact your bank if you get a message from this number. It is legit.

I received a call from this number tonight. It was my credit union's fraud detection department.

This is a legit number for the security dept of my bank. There was suspicious activity on my card. I have my card in my possession but the number was being used.

Not sure what to make of these 800 Notes. Some say scam, some say legit. In the past my credit union fraud department has called first my home number then my cell number. This number is only calling my home number so ... it does begin to leave a message but all my service picks up is 'press 2 to continue in English'. Wouldn't expect a recording with a personal call from a small credit union. Maybe I'll pick up next time. If it is a phishing scam I can always hang up.

This was my credit union too. There were several fraudulent charges made. They had put a block on my card for my protection, canceled the card and issued new one.

Watch this number. They call is automated. Saying they are from mg credit union fraud dept. but dont give the name of the credit union. Then they start wanting you to put in personal information. At that point I hung up.

Got the same call, phishing for personal info.....

This is most certainly a scam! They claimed I had fraudulently activity. They had my account number and phone number. After the call, they cleaned out my account.

Called by this number. Don’t know who it is.

Check your accounts! Didn't answer this call but looked up number and saw other comments. Called my bank- sure enough -two fraudulent charges pending!

This was my credit union. They verified it. About 16 fraudulent charges on my card. Didn't fit my pattern so they called me. Card is cancelled.

It's important to remember that scammers often spoof legitimate numbers - better to be safe than sorry and call the number on the back of your card or your financial institution directly.

This may be a legit call. I just charged something from the U.K. so that may have flagged an alert. I would recommend calling your credit union and not the number they give.
