Didn't answer, has called me 3 times today

I've received numerous calls from this number. It seems that every time I apply for credit somehow some way this number calls stating they're the company in which I applied to. First, it was a utility company, then Fingerhut. This must be apart of some security breach that hasn't been found or noticed yet. I have this number listed on my phone as a scam that's how I've been able to identify when in fact they call using a new company.

I missed the call, no voicemail, when you call back it says 'please hold for the next available agent' and then disconnects.
