American Express farms out really old debt to Indian call centers to see if they can get unintelligible Indians to collect anything from you - years after the fact. Even if it's not your debt, they'll call similar names or numbers. Easy solution: NEVER answer unless you know who it is! They spoof all kinds of local numbers from your area code trying to get you to pick up.

I read other complaints. I never had AMEX card. However IDK who it is. If I answer I get dead air. My VM also records dead air. With all the technology why cant we avoid this annoyance
