The recorded message stated that they were from TX department of transportation.

That's no guarantee this call was legit. Scammers will answer phone lines claiming to be whomever but that doesn't mean they actually are. The smart thing to do is to not give a random caller any type of personal information but instead hang up and call a known phone number, such as the one on your bill or on their official website.

Answered the phone and the woman who responded said she was from OnStar and asking for a male name (Steve or something similar). I said that she had the wrong number and she repeated my phone number (with area code) to me to see if it was correct. I said that was my number, but there was no Steve here. She said ok and that she'd fix it and hung up.Could be a scam. I'm not sure. I've owned this cell number for several years now. Since before OnStar was really popular.I don't use their service or plan to anytime in the future so I will be blocking this number.

PEOPLE- DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFO TO ANYONE WHO CALLS YOU! EVER! This call is probably from scammers who spoof the legit OnStar phone number which is very easy to do, to make it look like they are calling from OnStar. For those of you that have given out your pin numbers to these people you should call OnStar directly and change your PIN number ASAP. God only knows what these people are going to do to your OnStar account.

Why would they do that??? One month? It’s over before it starts! Did you give them your PIN? If so, change it ASAP as well as any other accounts with any other entity that you use that same pin number. Trust me on this one!

Received call from the above #. Asked for me by name. Asked her who, and why she was calling She said she was from Onstar. Asked her what was the purpose of her call. She said she wanted to update my payment source. I told her that I would go online into my Onstar account and make sure it was up to date and hung up on her..

AND if you use that PIN number for ANY OTHER security measure...CHANGE THOSE TOO ASAP! The people who come on here and write “totally legit” are probably those same scammers.

Call from Onstar. Woman called regarding updating my payment information, which could be legit. I replied to use the information that they already had on file, giving them my phone PIN number when requested. In this case, the call was legit.

It is a legit call from Onstar. They were calling to offer me a free month of services for my Chevy. Very professional service.

She said she was from On Star. Wanted my payment info. I said I don’t have OnStar and Told her to go “F” herself and hung up on her. Blocked the number for future calls.

Just got a call from 877-520-3063, she said she was from OnStar and as a valued customer she wanted to offer me a free service such as Navigation or Crash Response. I told her although I did have OnStar on my vehicle for 3 months when I first purchased it, I never used it and won’t be ever. She insisted I take Crash Response for free protection over the holidays as piece of mind. She asked me for my OnStar PIN number but I told her I had never used it and didn’t remember. She said take a guess, it’s a 4 digit number. I gave her a random number I wouldn’t use and she said it was incorrect. I again told her I didn’t remember it. She the asked me for my SIN number. OnStar does not have my SIN number. I Said “ya right” and hung up at that point.
