Received a call on my cell. Badly broke up message voice message transcript read as “Honey has been ordered to close down please call us on our toll-free number 888-587-1368 again 888-587-1368 thank you…” block this caller!

Received a recorded call from this number at 3:00 p.m. today. Female voice (no accent) 'from Microsoft' telling me I'm due a refund as I have been paying for tech support because the company 'has been ordered to close down.' (Right! That would be on the international financial news!) Please call this 1-888 number. (No, thanks. Anyway, I use a Mac.)

Truncated voice mail just repeated the 888 number.I dialed the number (using Google Voice) and a female voice only answered, 'Hello'.I said I'd gotten a voice mail asking me to call this number, and asked who this was.'Microsoft Windows' came the reply.'Well, I have nothing to do with this.' said I, hanging up.Does Microsoft Windows actually answer a call with 'Hello'?

Microsoft 'refund' for something I never purchased! These scammers just want your details and your account number to 'credit'(?) the refund. Not even sure where they were calling from to be able to inform the police fraud squad. Any of you know the location of the 888 number, please do contact the police. Shut these cruddy idiots down.

Keeps calling my Skype number that I use exclusively for talking with my elderly parents overseas. Claims to be Microsoft wanting to refund me money since the company I ordered tech support from has closed down. I'm a top-tier tech support person with over 30 years experience. I did not order any tech support from anyone else, and definitely never given that number to anyone but my parents.Transcript: 'Hello, my name is Kathy Jackson. I am calling you from Microsoft's refunds Department. Please do not hang up. You have paid for your computer technical support few months ago. We are calling to refund your money as a company has been ordered to close down. Please call us on our toll free number 8 for 44374215 repeating again, 8444374215. Thank you.'

These guys are operating using the same scam as the 'tech Support'. Are they the same people? My answer is YES, They are the same people. At that time they wanted to 'fix' our computers and charge a monthly subscription from our credit cards. Now they want to 'refund' your money they took at that time but they would need your personal info to do so. Red flag - Scam. These operations are based in overseas and it is difficult to persecute them. BUT they most probably have connections in Canada and US so they collect our info send it overseas and target their prey. There is a serious issue to admit these predators to Canada. Cert they bring big money with them when they move to Canada but have anyone asked them where and how they earned that money? They bring money but they bring their questionable way of making money as well.
