This is from Dell tech support. They do repairs etc when your local repair guys ie Currys don't support a particular Dell product. If you purchased direct from Dell it is likely that you need to deal with them direct. A real pain and not particularly cheap.

Claims to be from Dell. Total scam. We have none of their products and when puhed, she couldn't say what we have. Phishing exercise or cold call - in either case we have no time for them

This is a scam. Claimed to be from Dell but wouldn't tell me which Dell products we had. Got very angry when I refused to give my contact details, even though they called me.

How can it be legitimate? The number isn't even the right length for a UK phone number. Try calling it and you'll see it is a non existent number. It may be similar to a legitimate Dell number but it's fake. Go to the Dell UK website and you'll see their warning about this scam!

Said from Dell and checked with me for email contact details saying. Said worked for Dell? Reading rest of notes can see is a scam one.

All these comments from paranoid people claiming this is a convincing phishing exercise... I logged a service call request with Dell and guess what? This is the number they called from. IT IS DELL.

It's Dell but, Reading other people comments, Apparently they use the same number for both legit technical service and for their bloody telemarketing. My case was exactly that, They called me just to offer some warranty extensions and ask if I was interested in opening my wallet very wide for them so they can sell me all kind of beautiful stuff for my business office.

Kjøpte nettopp en Alienware laptop topp utgave fra Dell. No og ble oppringt av dette nr av en engelsk talende fra India. Måtte bære bekrefte at jeg skulle ha laptopen, Kontrollere leverings- og fakturaadresse. I tillegg til dette måtte jeg bekrefte om jeg var i jobb eller student. Han skulle bare dobbeltsjekke at jeg faktisk skulle ha en såpass dyr laptop. Ingen svindel. Kontrollerte navnet på mannen som ringte med daglig leder Dell EMC Norge via facebook/Messenger.

They called to offer me £100 refund. Can't say fairer than that!

As notes below, Indian person calling, Saying from Dell. Actually did have details of equipment I had recently bought from Dell. Convincing phishing exercise.

I ordered a laptop from Dell and they called from this number to confirm the order. Genuine company number.

Calls both landline (work) and mobile several times per day on robocall, With recorded message about 'missed PPI? Have a go at this instead'. Have blocked from mobile.

Just phoned me

Woman with an Indian accent saying she is calling from Dell asking about about a laptop I bought last year! Mmm I have never owned a Dell Laptop or any other Dell computer so its some kind of phishing scam.

Told me I had a Dell laptop purchased in 2016 whose warranty was about to expire. I asked him for the service tag number which he 'gave me'. Totally fictitious as we do not have a Dell laptop.

Har nettopp bestilt en monitor fra Dell i Norge. Engelskspråklig kvinne som ba om bekreftelse på postnummer. Hun sa hun ringte fra Dell Call Center. Jeg bekreftet korrekt postnummer etter at hun først oppgav nummeret. Virket ok. Hun spurte ikke etter mer, Og takket for samtalen.

Ignore the comment from 19/11 - UK Landline numbers can be 10 or 11 digits - Obviously they don't come from the SW where it's fairly common. Anyway the number is Dell - I work in IT and we make orders from Dell direct, This is the number they always use to call us for delivery confirmations etc.
