Just got a call from them

I received a letter from a debt collection agency with this number very convincing if I had ever clamed tax credits 😂

They just called. They would not give details of what they wanted just have you received our letter?. When insisting no we have not, they try to get personal details before they share any information about why they have called. AVOID - they are scammers.

These number called me, saying that they are from HMRC And telling I have practice a fraud against HMRC..! And I should make a instant payment or they will prosecute me! So this caller are very dangerous please don’t make any payment ouvir the phone with this caller number 01782 971403

Hmrc phone scam don’t answer

This number 01782971403 keeps calling and calling and when I answer they put the phone down. I have had several automated calls from this number as well, saying they are Avensis and I had a debt with HMRC

Getting repeated calls from this number. First time I answered a recorded voice said they were ‘Advantis’ and to click 1 as they needed to speak to me. I clicked and was placed in a call queue so I hung up. Today they left a voicemail saying they were sorry to have missed me and they do need to speak to me so would I ring them back. I haven’t. I am not easily taken in but it does sound very official and left me feeling quite concerned. Grateful to find my instincts were correct.

- sent text and claimed to have recently contacted me re my account - which was untrue- didn't say what the account was in respect of- REMEMBER: HMRC will never contact you by phone unless you have given prior agreement, and all debt demands will be made in writing first

I have had two text messages from this number saying we have tried to contact you regarding your account. I have had no communication from them before the text messages.

Claimed to be from Xansis or Zantis or something similar. Called a couple of times recently. Pressed 1 to be put through to an advisor who asked to speak to a Miss Jones. Promised to remove my number from their list. Sounded like a UK call centre

They are calling me every day .they leave me a voice mail but reading these I don’t no what to do

Received call from this no. 11.35 today. Recorded message from Avensis and press 1to speak to an advisor. I didn’t press one but just hung up. So glad I did on seeing this scam report.

this is a debt collection agency called Advantis and the collect money on behalf of HMRC. They’re actually very reasonable to deal with if you have debts they are chasing, in fact they were the nicest debt collectors I’ve spoken to.
