Obviously got my name and number from some 'official' record. As I do not (and never have) used the forename he he called me on the answerphone. No-one uses that particular name when addressing me, because no-one in my business life or social life knows it. Thus it can only be a scam by someone with access to government-level data. .

A guy called from this number. Said he worked for a company that sounded like Silvermere. He wanted to talk about investments. I've been receiving lots of calls recently about investing in various items from fine wine to art. Not sure where they've got my number from but I keep asking them to stop calling. I have no intention of dealing with a cold caller. Very shady indeed - I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.
