Rang me at 20.10 on 12.321, asked for me by name by a man who had a strong geordie accent. I sensed this was a scam and put the phone down. Blocked this number immediately.

A man rang and left a message saying he was from HMRC and it was regarding Tax Credit which I haven’t had for over 15 years phone was quite dodgy and the man did not sound authentic

I was called today at 14:59 from this number and advised that the lady who was calling was from the hmrc. She proceeded to give me another number that I could call 0305 300 3900 but when I checked this number it was similar to the hmrc helpline but differed in it was a 0305 number rather than a 0345 number. The lady sounded really nervous when I said I wasn’t comfortable with this and so I ended the call.

This number called me and told me hmrc and told me I had been overpaid in job retention payments. I realised after a couple of minutes that you would receive a letter and thought how did they get my mobile number. The call also was made at 8.40am which I thought would be a bit early. The call was made from a very nice lady who would seem very plausible to a lot of people. Beware of this. I told her I would phone hmrc direct myself.

This number phoned me today and said they were HMRC ! They knew my name and when I questioned her she just left the line open so I hung up.

Harrassment

Woman called, strong Scottish accent, adamant she was from Hmrc. Told her hmrc don’t cold-call telephone, they write to customers. Told her to get lost. She persevered. But I stuck to my guns. Eventually she said “Right okay” and aborted the phone call. DO NOT GIVE THEM INFO!!!SCAMMERS!!!

This number call me last week and asked for my husband, because he is self assessment, HMRC need discuss about his tax account,I hang up and block! HMRC and Bank taught us, they not call you! Dangerous! Be careful!

Called me Monday morning (30 Nov 20). Had sourced info from Companies House. Scottish. Called him out straight away, and ended the call. Number now blocked.

I received a call yesterday and the person told me to be from HMRC Tax Credits. I only realised it could be a suspicious call after the call ended and I thought no office can be open on Sundays. The surprising thing was the person knew my name and a few things that I belive is not possible unless a person from the department is complict with the caller. He know the exact figure of the estimate income I had given to the department.

I didn’t let the guy finish. As soon as he started talking about unpaid tax I told him it was a scam and I would report the call and number

Claimed to be from “HM Revenue & Customs”. I immediately hung up.
