I bought a $5 guitar strap and they called me about two months later to try to interest me in more stuff. I was trying to be polite so i kept conversing with the guy for about 15 minutes. I thought itd be the end but they called me again two or three months later with the same sales pitch. I made the mistake of listening to the entire sales pitch again. Im sure theyll call again in a couple of months but i saved the number under the name 'sweetwater (dont answer)'

They're cool stuff. They have a legitimate reason for calling you. No need to be upset. They're pros. If you shop gear, I highly recommend them

i never answer because i forget who these guys are, but it is Sweetwater. Great catalogs, etc. I like 'em because they don't call every friggin' day - just once or twice a year to see how things are going and answer any questions. Good people. Great for musicians and music enthusiasts alike.

I agree that Sweetwater Sound is a good company, but...why does their Caller ID say 'NO NAME'? You'd think they would want people to know who's calling. Anyway, I like their quarterly flyers: interesting musical information.

I have been called by this number daily since May or June this year. They call my office first and then my cell phone (which I have to leave on my office voicemail.) They have NEVER left a message. I would have returned their first call if a message had been left for me. Intrusive and annoying? How about rude.

I did not answer the call since I didn't recognize the number. However, after reading the above posts, just want to say for the record that I've never ordered anything from sweetwater.

Wtf, I haven't ordered anything from these people in years and now they're calling me again out of the blue?? Never again will I order from them, terrible practice of pestering customers.

Sweetwater is a good company and while they are sometimes just a tad pricier than the other online music gear vendors, they are usually competitive and also carry some pro audio items I haven't found anywhere else. However, I have to agree with all of the other posters who find their practice of calling to follow up on an online order or just to 'check in' very annoying. In fact, like some others here, I am so put off by this that I usually make a point of shopping elsewhere. When I need to talk to a human being, I have found that all of the major online music retailers (e.g. Musician's Friend, ZZounds, Sam Ash) have knowledgeable, helpful people answering the phones. However, I prefer to chose when and if I talk to someone. By the way, I have the same problem with Guitar Center. They sometimes call just to 'take my temperature' and always call to follow up and say 'thank you' for an in-store purchase. That can be a real drag when they get your wife who doesn't know you just went out and bought yourself an expensive toy! :)

I ordered something from Sweetwater two and a half years ago. I am pleased with my purchse but our transaction is complete. They keep calling, unsolicited, to try to drum up business. I cannot think of another business that harasses its satisfied customers so aggressively that they lose those customers entirely.

I just got a call from the number and looked on here before I listened to my voicemail. They are legit and I have ordered from them before. If you order from them, someone will usually call you within 15 minutes to confirm or tell you if there are any issues - I was an idiot and didn't notice the website said back ordered -- they called to make sure I was willing to wait/offered something else in stock. solid firm. best prices I have seen and usually have the newest gear first.

Sweetwater have good gear at good prices, but I've stopped purchasing from them because they have a bizarre policy of calling me on my home phone whenever anyone sneezes or they see that I haven't bought anything in a month. I've asked *emphatically* them to never call my home phone number exactly 5 times and it seems to have no effect.

After placing an order with Sweetwater.com they always follow up with a phone call to let you know the order shipped. Professional company!

These guys are the best, I bought a computer accessory from them a couple of years ago, really stellar customer service and now they call me periodically every 8-9 months or so. It's not in the least intrusive, always polite and always sincerely checking in just to see, and at least reminds me they are still there. It's a brilliant marketing effort at least. I wish the majority of online merchants would even try at least half as well. If they had anything else I wanted they'd be my first choice hands down. But they focus entirely on musicians and I can't find much else in the general; felt so bad I asked them to stop sending me their 400 page catalog every 6 months, those things are expensive to create and ship. That's how much I appreciate these guys and their excellence in customer relations. So, buy something large or small from these guys and experience a brilliant and, as for me, appreciated customer relations effort that is unobtrusive and quite nicely done. Then spread the word to all those other 'Hacks' out there how it could be done and how far off the mark they are.

I received a call from this number. As the prior posts say it was Sweetwater. They were calling me (within an hour) after I placed an order with them. As I did not answer, SW left a voice mail and told me that they bumped up my shipping to a quicker shipping method. This call was a surprise but not intrusive - although I wonder why an email couldn't have said the same thing. If SW calls again - without request - like some of the above posts - then it could become intrusive/annoying.

i got so tired of these nuts calling my home all the time (after one stinkin' sale) that i finally had to block their number..you know what?.. just buy your stuff from musician's friend or zzounds.. they never bother me after the sale & their prices are better anyway..geeeez, you guys lost a customer... give it up already.hey, here's a thought, if you want to increase sales just drop your prices below that of the guys above and you won't even have to call me..oh yeah, BTW, nobody believes all the shill comments that you guys typed in above & below my post..nice try though for the dummies that might believe them..

Sweetwater is a legitimate business, but they are more annoying than used car salesmen. A friend of mine bought a pricy item for me on his credit card 5 year ago, and they still call and harass his ex-wife after numerous attempts to get his old phone number removed from their database.They just called me again this morning and woke me up. Not everybody lives on the East coast, Sweetwater.

+1 to that! All the positive comments on this thread stink of 'shills' (e.g. - Sweetwater employees or friends posting their BS marketing hype). I have had first hand experience dealing with Sweetwater and can tell you that they are full of BS and hype. They are no better and actually worse in customer satisfaction than the other Musical Instruments and Recording Gear outfis such as Zzounds.com, American Musical and Guitar Center. Their return policy is the worst of the bunch if you have to return a defective item. They don't refund the to and from shipping costs. The other dealers do and with no questions asked nor hassle. With Sweetwater it IS a hassle. So forget the hype their 'shills' post all over the internet forums and stay away from them. They are a small time outfit with nowhere near the resources to serve you like the big time dealers can. I am going around with trying to get a full refund for a defective guitar I just bought from them. It is a complete hassle with them. I got a call on my cell phone saying this number, so I looked it up. Found this thread and had to post my experience with them. I never gave them my cell phone number... so its true they snoop and investigate your id. That's probably how they got my cell number. This place is a hassle to deal with. Hit or miss. For me it was always a miss.
