I called this number listed on this website (https://www.sbcgloballogin.com/how-to-fix-sbc ... ith-ms-outlook/) to get help with configuring MS Outlook for an sbcglobal.net domain (was getting incoming mail but not able to send outgoing). The website appeared to be genuine and I called. They wanted to take remote control of the computer and after opening up notepad to have me add my email address she went into the command prompt. In between the ‘tree’ command and the ‘netstat –sp tcp’ command to show me network communication errors they displayed the following message regarding a network infection (Alureon) “sbcglobal email has been compromised, network infection found, warning!! Alureon found, check network settings, sbcglobal email couldn’t connect to the server, check network settings, no network firewall security”. She took me to a wiki page to show me how serious this infection was and wanted $100 to fix error so I terminated the connection. She used the name Jessica Samuels. So far I do not see evidence that my system was compromised but not really sure since they were able to display the Alureon warning in the command prompt. Several scans using McAfee and MS defender offline did not find Alureon and I was able to get outgoing email configured correctly without changing anything associated with the network per se so it was a scam. They had to call me back during the session and the number used was 317-210-8015. My cell phone through ATT listed it as a spam risk.
