Farmingdale, NY located in that section of New York State known for harboring criminal debt collectors. My guess is that you paid the first DC without having them validate the debt? If so, they probably sold your name to this other debt collector as an 'easy mark'. This is why you never pay a debt collector until they follow the law and they have validated the debt as per your written request to do so (should be mailed certified, return receipt). After all it is incumbent upon them to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it. Not the other way around.SUNRISE CREDIT SERVICESPosted in: https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-866-640-9251https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-313-483-7625https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-844-705-0291Web site lists them in NY with the other “Buffalo Bullies”: http://www.sunrisecreditservices.com/contact-us/BBB gives them an accredited A+ even though they have 105 complaints and 2 negative reviews: http://www.bbb.org/new-york-city/Business-Rev ... ngdale-ny-21233New York Dept. of State info also lists the head criminal:Selected Entity Name: SUNRISE CREDIT SERVICES INC.Selected Entity Status InformationCurrent Entity Name: SUNRISE CREDIT SERVICES INC.DOS ID #: 379660Initial DOS Filing Date: SEPTEMBER 22, 1975County: SUFFOLKJurisdiction: NEW YORKEntity Type: DOMESTIC BUSINESS CORPORATIONCurrent Entity Status: ACTIVESelected Entity Address InformationDOS Process (Address to which DOS will mail process if accepted on behalf of the entity)SUNRISE CREDIT SERVICES INC.260 AIRPORT PLAZAFARMINGDALE, NEW YORK, 11735-3946Chief Executive OfficerDIANE DOANE260 AIRPORT PLAZAFARMINGDALE, NEW YORK, 11735-3946Principal Executive OfficeSUNRISE CREDIT SERVICES INC.260 AIRPORT PLAZAFARMINGDALE, NEW YORK, 11735-3946Registered AgentNONEOther complaints:http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/sunrise-credit-services/farmingdale-new-york-11734/sunrise-credit-services-scam-fraud-deceptive-practicesbeware-farmingdale-new-york-845512http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/sunrise-credit-services-inc/farmingdale-new-york-11735-9100/sunrise-credit-services-inc-scammed-me-out-of-1000000-on-a-debt-discharged-in-bankrupt-943917Looks like the employees call working there a 50.50 proposition:https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Sunrise-Cre ... It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.List of State AG’s offices: http://consumerfraudreporting.org/stateattorneygenerallist.phpFile a complaint at the NY State AG's Office here: http://www.ag.ny.gov/
