Had same experience with this number - 'Timothy Hamilton' showed interest in an expensive item, wanted us to cancel all other offers and consider the item sold. Was then looking to arrange a PayPal transfer. Lucky we checked this site!

I have just had the same on Shpock, it stated we were in different countries which struck alarm bells. They included email address [email protected]. Thanks everyone I have reported to Shpock.

Gumtree ad scam

First time ever advertising, joycole99 contacted me, I gave her my info stupidly. How dangerous of a scam is it? Closed the PayPal account, but they have my name, email and address now :-(

Me too! Same email [email protected] sent within minutes of me posting up my sofa for sake despite the stats on gumtree showing no one had yet viewed. Have blocked the number. Thanks for everyone reporting this scam so we can all avoid it 😊👍

This is a false number. Once again a reply to a GUM TREE advert. I followed everybody else and did my own checks and was grateful for the information.

Received email off this same person saying they were buying item for cousin but they are disabled and deaf or something along those lines and they would pay via PayPal and send courier to collect. Told em straight no.

This number texted me literally within 10 mins of me posting an ad on Gumtree. Too quick to be true so I was suspicious!They wanted me to contact them via email regarding buying the item, email address was [email protected]. Needless to say I did not take the bait!! I would not give my email address out on Gumtree!
