Yes it was Cash Converters definitely. I Recognised some bloke by their Voice who I've had previous conversations with over the phone from Cash Converters. He quoted my name and asked if it was me answering. It was Cash Converters.

I had the same experience as others.... automated message telling me to press any key for a one off passcode. The code lasts 8 minutes before it will expire......I haven’t tried to do anything with a Nat west payment today so something not right!! Dodgy.....

This number is very similar to the NatWest Fraud Team number. I am a NatWest customer, but they rang me on my landline - a number that NatWest does not have. I have checked with NatWest and they have not tried to contact me at all.

Yes it was Cash Converters. Some bloke asked Is that so and so? When I answered and knew my name, and then rang off. I definitely Recognised their voice from previous conversations I've had with Cash Converters over the phone, and this bloke knew my name.

I was called at 04.49 in the morning with a recording saying from Nat West fraud asking me to press any key for a one time code. Had calls like this before and checked with Nat West, it's a scam just hang up and if you can bar the number.

It appears that this is a genuine number for the Nat West fraud team. If you get a call from this number for no obvious reason it could indicate that someone is attempting something dodgy and Nat West is trying to verify (or a Nat West customer gave out the wrong phone number). If you have a Nat West account, look for an up-to-date fraud team number from the Nat West website and speak to them.

Same problem with an online payment...told not to use card and ring this number. hung up after an hour on hold. Rang Natwest and they verified it's definitely a NatWest fraud number and not a scam. Carry out security checks by all means but at least man the phones to stop peeps worrying.

Nat West surely don't phone people out of the blue when they supply card readers for internet banking. Don't give them any information!
