Received an automated call from this number saying there had been fraud on my credit card and giving last 4 digits, but did not say which company. I thought it was a crank call, but have now discovered, on speaking to MBNA, that it was genuine and there have been fraudulent transactions on my card, which has now been cancelled. Like others, cannot believe that MBNA notify you of fraud in this manner, and have told them so!

This is a genuine MBNA number, but the automated voice is so garbled that it sounds like a scam.

I received a message on my answering machine from this number regarding a security issue with my credit card. When calling the credit card company I found out that this was a genuine message from the MBNA European fraud office!

I have had this number on my answer phone and looked it up on the internet, after checking with MBNA they have said that they had left me a message, and that they are contacting a number of customers as there details have been compromised. The phone message did not say who it was that was ringing only that it was the Fraud department this section of it was not very clear in the slittest but the phone number was clear but still for them to send computerised phone messages is stupid

Message left from Fraud Department - did not say which bank, so seemed suspicious! Checked reports on internet and can confirm it was genuine call from MBNA regarding potential fraud on a credit card, which they cancelled.

A follow on from my previous message posted very recently.I have just checked this number with MBNA and it is from them.I expressed that it isn't the best method of contact as it sounds very suspicious.Apparently there is a possibility my card number has been compromised, so a new card needs to be issued.

Automated message left on my Land Line answer machine saying it was the fraud department and for me to telephone them.They had my christian name wrong and if it is a genuine warning call, I think it's a totally unprofessional method of contact. There was no information given about who was phoning or which company or what the problem was.I haven't phoned them and have no intention of doing so unless I am sure they are a genuine organisation.

Similar to the earlier examples; message received from 'fraud department' and giving the last four digits of my card number and then asking me to press '1' to accept the call. I did not and would not. Message sent to MNBA to establish whether this is a genuine call, reply awaits. In any event, this is not the way to conduct business.
