Action fraud sent letter says someone had tried to gain access to santander online banking that i wad a victim of crimes i went into local branch to be told account was now frozen and basically on your merry way this was back in September 2015 so the distress it's caused me and my family i think im due some sorry compensation it's been murder

called santander fraud yesterday who confirmed my account was safe, think my number has been phished from there as this number called today. if in doubt, call back your bank FROM A DIFFERENT HAND SET. these muppets probably stay on the line. The bank wont call from this number and will never ask you to transfer funds if the bank suspected fraud they freeze your account for you. That's all. comments on other sites saying its legit are very suspicious and in broken english.

This is Santander Credit Card line. My phone rang at 08:15...! Didn't answer at all...but, the number was followed by other numbers, in my case 51200300600. On ringing this number on callback, it went to the Santander welcome script. Hung up immediately as wasn't sure. I do have a c/card with them and ring them myself for their self service balance check. Not sure if they should ring me though, very strange and a bit unsettling.

Santander will never call you on this number but you can call them. This was a scam saying I had many fraudulent attempts at purchases from my account. They said thay had blocked my account but needed me to login so my balance could be transferred to the new account! I rang Santander fraud dept. This is a SCAM!!! They will not ring you on this number ever!

Not a scam this is Santander. Please be careful and don't give any info over the phone as scammers can make it look like they are calling from genuine Santander number if in doubt hang up and go to the bank they will stay on the phone line even when you've hung up so don't try calling the bank as they will pretend and take all your information.

This number is legitimately santander bank, If this has been flagged for you on an incoming call it looks like some people are reporting scammers using it... Which shouldnt be possible but depends on their tech abilities. My suggestion to anyone worried about a call on this number... Because they asked for passwords etc... Fake a reason to hang up like an emergency and then call them back using a phone not on the same line

BUT Said that there had been payments out of my account that could be fraudulent. Mentioned payments to companies that I had, In fact, Not paid - to back this up. asked for balance on my account. Knew the last 4 digits of my account number. I said that if he was from Santander, He would not ask for balance. He got quite bossy. I ended the call.

Scammer used this to advise that account had been compromised a few minutes ago. ¬£650 for Air BnB Liverpool and we had to move all our funds to a Premium Account. Asked us to log into our account when we were on phone. Ended call abruptly and phoned Santander...... Account not compromised.... Fraud... Dont know how they managed to make call using a Santander number.

I phoned this number as I couldn't acsess my Santander online banking ! they told my my account were getting closed within 30 due to fraudulent activity! the asked to move all my money to another account but stopped mid way when they realised I hadn't been paid due to Easter weekend so it seemed genuine but when they realised I had only a few pounds in my account they didn't bother trying to transfer money to a new account? #veryconfused

Scam - pretending to be Santander to get info. No idea how they can use Santander's phone number (although initially when call connected to me it said Cardiff). Call your bank back independently, To check. The woman did not like it when I said I wanted to do that. She tried to put me off by saying I would have start the process all over again. The bank would never do that!!

Ive just had a call from this number (from googling it is the genuine santander number) claiming to be from the fraud team and asking to check a pending transaction. On contacting Santander (I was suspicious as she didn't go through any security checks with me) it was NOT genuine and was a scam - they somehow manage to make it look like they are calling from the genuine number! Beware.
