IT IS ILLEGAL TO SLAUGHTER. HORSES IN THE USA THEY HAVE TO GO TO CANADA OR MEXICO. I HAVE ALSO SEEN WHERE ALL THE HORSES HAVE BEEN RESCUED

Sugarcreek Ohio is a horse auction...just like New Holland in PA. The meat markets go there to buy the horses and then the horses are shipped across to canada or mexico. Slaughter of horses no longer takes place in the USA but the meat auctions happen every single week for those looking to rescue local to ohio or PA. I was just seeing if this is a valid number before reposting and sharing but it looks like it is old post. Thank you all.

same thing- horses need help and the number, this number is actually listed 2x in the post...made me think it may not be real...and the OH CANTER and other TB rescues in that area dont have any info that I've seen on their websites. Any word on what the status of this post is? maybe its old? or a scam?

right there is a facebook status post going around about 52 horses headed to slaughter:52 thoroughbred horses need homes. Will go to Sugarcreek this Saturday for slaughter. Gentleman died and his son wants nothing to do with them. Broodmares, yearlings, 2 yrs and 3 yrs old most are gelded. FREE and papered. Friend of the deceased is trying to find homes 440-463-4288 ...or 440-463-4288 Barnesville, OH. Please copy on your status! PLEASE HELP!
