Didn’t answer. I am a consumers energy customer and I was reading the comments and have now blocked the number.

Get this call - shows potential spam, so I don’t answer. Every 2 hours. Blocked now

My phone rang and I was not unable to pick it up, but Consumers Energy showed up on caller ID. I called back and the message didn't say Consumers Energy. This is why so many people check and record these scam numbers.

This caller left a message about home loan. Unwanted, and keeps calling from different numbers.

I checked to be sure of this number since I live in a 269 area code. It's saying that it is a possible scam number. Is it a scam number?

But then again they might simply be calling everyone in that utilities service area. They certainly don't 'need' your phone number to call you, all they have to do is dial the right 10 digits.

They tell you they are calling about your Consumers Energy account. And then they say it's regarding billing. But they are not from Consumers Energy. They are an outside company that wants you to change your gas distributor. Which would mean not having Consumers Energy Supply you with the gas. If their rate was actually lower that would be one thing but if you try to cancel this company they charge you $100 to cancel and their rate can go up at any time. Plus they charge a set up fee that they don't tell you about. You're just better off leaving your Consumers Energy the way it is and just hang up on these people. These people are not honest,, they try to scam you right off the bat by not telling you who they really are.

Not a scam or spam caller. It is SQM Group calling to inquire about your satisfaction with a call you recently placed to a call center, very often lateoy it is Consumer Energy.Again, not a scam call at all.

I called consumers yesterday about a power outage and signed up for text alerts. Then today this number calls... consumers must have their system hacked in order for these people to get my number... concern is what other info are they able to access. I didn’t answer and I was at work and googled number to find this information.

Just had paid my electric bill and this number called within 30 seconds of me hanging up. I know this is NOT Consumers Energy phone number and did not answer the call. They left no message. Consumers Energy has said in the past this is NOT their number. They will never call a customer randomly, and they will only leave a message IF they must return a call that YOU placed to them first! NEVER give out any personal and/or banking information over the phone to anyone who calls YOU asking YOU to VERIFY YOUR INFORMATION!!! You have been kindly warned...

Same thing I just was on phone with consumers energy and got this number as s missed call

Didn't pick up as the number popped up as '1 (1) (517) 212-9442' and just said United States. I just had paid my bill and placed a call to Consumer Energy yesterday so seeing all these comment about it being a company pretending to be them makes sense as I just dealt with them.

The ability to call a person and have the number show up as somebody completely different has been around for a few years now it's a app that you download and use on your smartphone you can make somebody think their grandma is calling you and you can disguise your voice as an old man or as a woman. I tried out this app and called a few friends they couldn't believe it

Got a telephone call from this number today and it showed up on my caller id as Consumers Energy. I did not answer the call and decided to look up the number and it showed up as a scam number. I called Consumers Energy and they verified that this was a scam number and that the scammers now have the ability to have their calls show up on out caller id's as whatever company they want. The reason I was so cautious today was because someone called me yesterday and pretended to be Consumers Energy and told me I had an overdue bill, which was not true. Be careful, the crooks have so many ways that they can try and steal from all of us. DO NOT believe people that call and ask for money, do not give them your information.

Vague, Would not tell me anything because I was not my mother. She was not home so I was trying to get reason for call, Or message. Lady hung up mid-sentence.
