In Chicago, my brother/roommate shared a LAN phone number for years, until maybe 2014 when he got his own smart phone with his own number. As he updated his contacts, this LAN number would essentially became my number alone. When I got my own smart phone in 2015, we went off LAN and I was able to keep this number for my smart phone. In May 2019 I started getting almost daily calls from 'Will from Chase Bank' for my brother. 'Will', presumably calling from Tampa, would sometime hang up during the day and leave simple, non-detailed messages at nights, often after 5:00 PM Chicago time. This morning on Memorial Day, a national holiday, 'Will from Chase' called and hung up. Although my brother/roommate is having temporary problems at the moment, the nature of these calls -- as well as my own experience with suspicious calls on or about my own Chapter 7 filing in 2015 -- led me to this website. Scammers may well have your problems on their radar; they may still get it wrong when claiming to represent a bank or even the government. Anyhow, my brother/roommate has not used my number in years; the real Chase should -- and does -- have his current number.
