Medicare scam .

Various people in Mohave County, AZ are reporting 'Jimmy' or 'Mikey' are calling them and claiming to be from Aetna and wanting to schedule a home visit. Most of these people are elderly and some are frightened by the caller and how much of their private information the caller has.I am a Broker for Aetna but I am also a licensed Investigator. I'm concerned that this caller is targeting elderly people and appears to have personal information on them.

Recorded message Call sound like they are coming from an empty warehouse with huge fans and traffic noise in the background. Recording trying to get you to call back the number. Not good.

They sometimes 3-4 times a day,and also call wife's phone. They say there is a benefit from Medicare that we may be able to receive. We tell them we're not interested but they keep calling. Very big nuisance!

This woman want to appointment for healthly home vist I told her that she was telemarketer she is a darn liar. I thought that it was a scammer because i refuse to make appointment, with that idiot brain. I felt that she was making it that she clam from Aetna I didn't believe her what so ever,

Male caller at 730 AM said he was from Aetna and needed to talk to me. I didn't answer the call.

Hung up on me after i said i dont known you and have no reason to have an appointment with total stranger.

Why doesn't Aetna do something about this like including a single 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper in our monthly statement with nothing on it but a warning about this company claiming to work for Aetna in setting up virtual appointments. How do they get information that we are with Aetna? z.

Wanted to come to my home for a checkup. I wouldn't do it.

The caller wanted to send someone to my house for a 'check up' of me. I was shocked, and she said she had an appointment for tomorrow available, When I said no to this, the caller said she would find another date, but then came back on and said she could not find an avaliable date.

I finally answered after a bunch of calls. She said she was with Cigna calling on behalf of Aetna. I thought...what?!? Wants to make house visit. I said no but kept trying. I'm not happy that these people have my Aetna information and wonder how they got it. Gonna look into it. I thought it was Aetna harrassing me all this time for a home visit even with Covid. Aetna needs to do more as this is on them as well.

Received a call from someone name Rick, he said he was calling on behalf of Aetna to discuss medicare advantage, I have Aetna insurance, but they send all information by mail to me, I do not answer of return these types of calls.

Block this number- the scam message changes to this: recording of a mans voice who sounds like a professional announcer ' Im calling on behalf of Aetna, your insurance provider. I was hoping to speak with you about a valuable service that is part of your membership. Please call us back x*x ,,, '

Received a call from Marcus, said they wanted to set up a virtual meeting with a Dr. or a doctor would be sent to my home. I called Aetna to verify.....told me it was a scam!

Said appointment was required per my insurance plan - took DOB and ZipCode - asked if I had Android or IPhone. Said appointment reminder would be sent for teleconfrence, and healthcare professional would have credentials to show. I called the actual Aetna and they said this is a scammer!

They asked for my information, I said you called me, then they told me my address and DOB. what can I do to protect myself

A female called my Mothers number saying they were from Aetna and needed to schedule a home visit with her. I said no and hung up. There is no reason for her to have a home visit! How did they get her information???

They've called about five times all of which have gone to voicemail. I've not returned the calls because they sounded like a scam.

Additional Information:After reading comments, here, I decided to see what Google had to say... OH MY!!! For additional info do a Google search for 'aetna data breach 2020' -- which, apparently involves another company called EyeMed.

Third party scammers who've been fed your information by Aetna, who I've told I don't want ANY phone calls. They have my mailing address and email address. This particular number refuses to stop calling. They're scum trying to profit off billing medicare for services you never asked for, or required.These asshats are the reason I can't answer my phone anymore.

I am dropping Aetna because of this apparent data breach. An extremely serious issue they are not addressing.

Called regarding setting up a virtual appointment and to go over the Aetna benefits I have. They asked for me by name, and apparently knew that I have Aetna insurance that I just switched to on January 1st. They were very pushy about setting up an appointment, but I told them that I would call them back if I needed to discuss anything. I then searched for their number and found this site. I have since blocked their number.The question is, how did they know I switched to Aetna?

I work for Aetna and this is not us. It is someone trying to make a profit off of Aetna Members. Ignore them. If you are interested in the kind of service that they're offering, try giving Aetna a call and we'll direct you to a legitimate company. Aetna 888-267-2637

Unfortunately 855-215-1831 lookup appears as Aetna - Call Center. Apparently nefarious individuals have hijacked a number assigned to Aetna - Call Center.Also has there been an information breach. Hopefully Aetna has a protocol and is addressing this breach. Customers certainly can't afford to have personal information such as DOB and phone numbers unprotected.

I received 3 calls this Sunday...I returned the calls, a person answered...started asking question as DOB, zip. I didn't respond

I spoke with women she told me that Aetna ishurens would be able to make appointment with me and MD Michael Obryn on 10/13/20 on 3 pm.She told me that conversation was going recording.

Said calling about my virtual visit. I said didnt sign up for virtual visits she then hung up. Then my phone said scam number

'Said, This is Aetna. We've noticed you have a new bank. We have a service for a physician to come out to your home to do a physical for you.

I have told them in the past to not call, and guess what, it does no good.

It is a legitimate company for Aetna customers. It is a robo call but almost all companies use robo calling. Not all robo calls are scam. It's for a virtual health visit. Virtual this year because of the pandemic. It's always been for a home visit.

I notice in the comments below were dated in Dec. 2020 and prior. This scammer is back at it it seems. I've received several calls over the past few days. Too bad the real Aetna can't do something to stop whomever is doing this.

I got this call as well, from Signify. I made an appt., but then thought better of it and called Aetna. I'm now on Medicare Advantage through Aetna, and she told me it was not a scam, and totally optional. Mostly designed for people who don't see their doctor on a consistent basis.

Trying to tell you that you have an account with them. And you need to call them at 855746XXXX and they are representing themselves on other sites as Aetna and Cigna Health Insurance companies, A scam SCAM after seniors.

Yes this is Aetna insurance. I use them for my Medicare insurance every year. I also have to speak to an actual human every year & yell at them to stop their XXXXX calls. They want to get medical info on you & yes they want to schedule a virtual appt. You DO NOT have to do this. What I can't understand is why I have to argue with them every year about their intrusive telemarketing calls.. I stay with them every year & they STILL are not able to stop the computer from pushing out my name for phon
