Got numerous calls from an unpleasant woman to my wife's cell. The number my wife wrote down was wrong, so I searched the last call recieved and found this thread. It is indeed the United Healthcare Nurse line, and I too have had numerous INR visits, much more than I had previously as my numbers were off and they were changing dosages and rechecking. It works as a two tier system, there are actual nurses, and then there are telemarketers who do the cold calling. These telemarketers are unpleasant souls as far as I can see. Once you get to a nurse though it is a fairly painless conversation, they go over your medical history (like a nurse reacting to what you are telling them is going to be of more use than the doctor you have been seeing for years) and suggest the phoneline, their free services and make sure you are aware you need to try and visit in-network etc. My guess is repeated visits for something like INR testing sets off an alarm bell and they figure you are visiting the Drs office too often, so they think you are lonley and need constant comfort, so they push the nurseline on you, 'cause it is cheaper to man that than pay the cost of Drs visits.
