Further to my earlier comment, I can confirm that the reason this is a secure number is that the Everest operators are not allowed to know, nor do they ask for your debit card number. This secure phone line allows you to key in the card number on your phone keypad and all they can see are the last four digits. If you ring their office number and offer to make the payment, as I did, they will ring you back on this number which supports the secure payment facility.
