I've experienced the same as what a lot of other people have commented about. Recently moved into a new flat and set up my internet/broadband with EE. On my second bill this number was listed with a 36 second call. I don't have a broadband phone and I was at work when the supposeded call was made. Trying to get in touch with EE now about getting it refunded.

A call to 01412040004 appeared on my most recent bill (Feb. 2017). It stuck out as I did not recognise the number but more so because it was made from my house when I was not there!Lasted 10 secs and cost £0:22.

Call charge appeared on the day of changing from BT ADSL broadband to BT fibre broadband. Two calls of 39p each, I assume this might be an Openreach test number but it should not be charged for hence I will be raising this with BT and requesting a refund.

I was charged £1.44 for calling this number on four occasions in a 15 minute spell but never made the calls!!

I don't have a phone plugged in and this number appeared on my bill. Twice for 30p each time. BT refused to accept I hadn't called this number.

Same problem, never called this number. Must have picked up to answer then cancelled call. Was charged for the call. What is going on?

I've just been charged for calling this number even though my phone is never plugged in. Got intouch with sky and was refunded 32p I was charged. If it happens again I'll inform them about this happening to others. If it happens to you do the same

What was my surprise when after receiving a bill for internet saw the amount to be paid for the phone. Although the amount is small because L 0.31 but the fact that I never had and I do not have a telephone connected to the line is at least strange. I entered this number in google and I was transferred to this site and, therefore, I am writing this comment you were aware of that fact that you don't have your phone does not mean that it does not pay.

Makes unnauthorised out call from router when no phone connected to said router. Charges incurred for non existant call.

This number is the open reach line test number. The BT engineers use it to test the line. Crazy it's chargeable. BT should refund this

I received a bill for this number, 5 SECOND call duration (which I NEVER made) and it cost 24pence AVOID AVOID AVOID!! do not answer this number, total rip off and it's about time BT got a grip of this, so much for BT preference scheme, and caller display costs £1:75 a month now so will open up all sorts of scams for those who don't/won't/can't afford to pay BT £7 a month for the privelage of seeing who is calling them, sad times......

Hi, Moved into new flat and went with Talk Talk for Broadband only. On the day it went live I had two calls with this number, Online Chat with TalkTalk and they refunded it. Good idea to check your online bills on a regular basis...A

BT charged me 34p for call to this number on the day I switched to them. I don't even have a phone! I'll complain and ask for the refund. Why the hell has BT not taken this into account?
