Either telemarketing or scam caller

Called me (my company number). Started by saying they didn’t know who it was in my company they wanted to speak to. But the woman gave me the impression that she represented HMRC. Not knowing who to speak to, Her chuckling demeanour and the fact HMRC have never called me before, Suggested she was just a sales person.

Astonishingly persistent telesales chap, Particularly since I immediately informed him we were TPS registered and could he take us off his call list. Undeterred, And increasingly aggressive he said he was calling to help me. Very much purported to be HMRC official although evaded being drawn with a yes or no answer to “are you calling from HMRC?”. Claiming to be HMRC!

Automated message giving the name of the company and that all their advisers are busy, and they'll try again later. Googled the company name and it seems that they are R&D tax credit specialists. Maybe the company is legit but the call wasn't, based on the other comments.

Called me (my company number). Started by saying could they speak to me by name. A bubbly woman wanting to arrange for one of their advisers representing the HMRC to give me a call back regarding claiming back R & D funding from the government and did I know anything about it, Tried to put her off but most persistent then asking me for my Companies details at Companies House couldn’t get her off the phone told her I had a meeting and had to go.
