I have missed at least two calls to my mobile from this number. They couldn’t have let it ring for long. It was from the Oxford Hospitals and said they would try again. No name or number left. Very frustrating!

It is an automated service from The Oxford Hospital Trust to confirm appointment times and that you will be attending.This also help to save resources so if you have an appointment you can not keep it can be given to someone else in need👍

I understand the hospital is trying to remind you or whatever but why don't they leave a message and a number to ring back?

Rings phone for 15 seconds, not long enough to answer. Then when you call back it just gives a recorded message that they'll call you back! Rinse and repeat. This number appears legitimate and they do have a reason to call.... it's just their system seems to make it impossible to actually answer or communicate with them!

I have had about 7 calls from this number. It may work on a landline but it does not work on my mobile and I can't listen to the call. Therefore it may have good intentions but it is a waste of money as it does not work. They sent me a text as well which is fine.

All calls from an Oxford University trust hospital will have this number, Definitly safe and NOT a Scam.

All the comments are saying it's an appointment reminder for the hospital in Oxford, however I don't have a hospital appointment and live nowhere near Oxford so why would they have my number and try to call me?

This number called my wife's mobile. Left no message. If it is a hospital, it is time they learned that lots of older people don't answer numbers they do not know. Our mobiles are rarely turned on, they are for emergency use normally. Our house phone has an answering machine but for some reason if they leave a voice message they leave it on the mobile which we have to pay for. Please leave all voice mails on our house phone, they are free to listen to. Thank you.

They used to send me a text appointment reminder. Uncertainwhy that's changed.Overall it,s an acceptable communication.

It's also interactive so you confirm the details. Good system because it will cancel the appointment if you don't need it any more saving valuable resources. If you don't answer it doesn't leave a voice mail and will call back about 2hr later.

A text would be INFINITELY better (that is, quite useful as opposed to not remotely useful). Every other NHS facility I use sends texts. I can‘t imagine why this Oxford hospital has made such a gratuitously contrary change I bet some comms firm‘s rep is laughing all the way to the bank. I wish more NHS providers were a bit wiser to IT firms‘ spiels. :-)

Had to check out the number on google to find out who was seriously A NNOYING ME. Now I know! As with others, my phone will not be answered to numbers, so why on earth cant they announce who is calling?

Received call from this number whilst still in the hospital waiting to be seen but no message left !!

This phone call is a nuisance as its causing unnecessary worry to people under going treatment .

This is the Oxford University Trust Hospitals phoning with a reminder of your appointment. Please answer it it saves valuable resources if you aren't able to make the appointment they can offer to somebody else. It covers all four hospitals in the Trust. It is an automated service tells your name, the hospital, the ward and the day and time.

When I try to answer this appointment confirmation call from the hospital to my mobile, it does not give me enough time to 'press any key to continue the call' before cutting off. This is quite stressful. A text or a call to my landline would work instead. It takes time to flip to the key pad on my mobile - I guess I will never be able to answer it appropriately as much as I would like to.

Why can't they just use a text message service to remind/prompt of appointments rather than an automated voicemail/keypad press affair. My phone is never answered to numbers I don't recognise so it is a little self-defeating.

Text reminder would be better.
