They called about the green deal scheme and wanted £179 upfront to do a assessment, the government scheme costs between £70 - £100

Nuisance scam cold call re boiler replacement scheme

Cold call which had details of Green deal then says fee is £179. Money savings expert suggests fee should be £120> £150. Tried to call back but office closed @ 1630 Friday although message says open til 1700.

Boiler replacement government grant scam. Became abusive and hung up when asked for company name.

Rang me and when I queried how they would assess if I qualified for a free boiler they hung up.

This is one of a number of phone numbers (these people use many numbers to get round numbers you've blocked) with what seems to be the same recorded spiel about boiler replacement. They need you (i.e., your money), but you don't need them. If you need a boiler your best bet is to go to a local established firm.Don't press anything to be taken off their list as it doesn't work; in fact it simply tells them that someone answers the phone.
