Keep texting saying bout a visit from virgin media.. dnt know who they are , nuisance txts

For the last 2 days I have had 3 texts a day from this number. It says Hi it's Virgin Media. The big day's coming. We'll be connecting you on Thursday 23rd June.....All OK? Reply YES or NO. I have never had an account with Virgin or made any enquiries to place an order. Is this a scam?

Received a text from this number and it disabled my wifi on my phone.

This is an automated call from virgin media regarding engineers calling, to confirm a pre-made appointment and to check if you still require the engineer. The virgin media call centre won't recognise the number because they are based in India, but it is not a scam number, if they contact you incorrectly it is probably because the person they are supposed to be contacting has either given the wrong number or the number has been inputted incorrectly.

I`ve just had this message and answered no. Now I`m worried about going out in case it`s a burgler!!

I just had the message saying Hi there, it's Virgin Media. Would you like the accept the offer we discussed with you yesterday? If so, just txt back YES and we'll get that sorted. I haven't spoken to Virginia Media at all in the past few weeks.I call shenanigans here. Not replying.

Asking for friends name and number and if they join claim that my friend and i will get 50£ off our bill.

Its is Virgin.. you can call them up and even if you get to india, they will put you through to the UK and they will complete a do not contact form to stop it from happening.

My son keeps getting unsolicited messages from this number saying they are going to deliver his order, when nothing has been ordered.

It's Virgin Media. It is legitimate because I moved last week and called them on the weekend, then got a text just now saying I can call them when I need to to connect. If you've got a text and you're not with Virgin Media like a few people are saying then it's likely someone with a similar phone number to you has entered theirs wrong

It is definitely Virgin actually. Straight after an engineer's visit, this number texts asking how the engineer did, and does a quick, short customer survey. It is definitely Virgin - it seems above are only glitches!

It doesn't mean it's legitimate just because coincidentally the text/call arrived after you'd placed an order. It could just be that some malware has accessed your phone (via an app for example) and it's picked up info from there. The number of people who haven't ordered anything from Virgin and are getting these texts. I'd say be wary and check with Virgin.

I guess this is a message to let me know a signal is present for me to set the hub up.Could have told me that they did this. In my opinion it's genuine.

Don’t send messages or call without saying who you are and why you are contecting people. Especially when you have been asked not too.

I've just received a text from +447800002204. It claims to be Virgin Media telling me their engineer will be calling out tomorrow and if I miss the appointment I'll be charged £25. It gives the option to reply FIXED to cancel the call out. I assume if I do that or try to call them I'll be roped into some scam. Blocking the number.

2 text messages received claiming to be from virgin media re a forthcoming connection. Asking to reply either yes or no. Gives postcode for connection as somewhere in ramsgate. I live in the north east. I haven't replied to either text.
