How have these people got hold of my telephone number when I am ex-directory? I send my meter readings directly to my energy company and do not need this interference in my affairs. What do they gain by doing this? As I didn't recognise the number I googled it, to find that many other people are also being bothered by these unknown nuisances. They have called more than once, but I never answer them and they never speak to the answer machine.

I had a call from them today but said I couldn't give them a meter reading, they said they would call back in a few days. After they hung up I checked with my energy supplier and they confirmed that they were Lowry Beck Services and had authorisation to check with the customers on a yearly basis, they would only ask for name, maybe first line of address and readings. So they are genuine folks.

A caller from this number phoned stating it was npower - this is my energy provider- and asked for meter readings. As I had never ever received a similar call and had already had an email reminding me to send meter readings I was a bit suspicious. It was 6.35pm and almost dark and the meters are outside of my property. I told the caller it was inconvenient.

The phone number belongs to a company called lowery beck they do work on behalf of the majority of gas and electricity suppliers and are 100% legitimate. They rang me but before I gave them my readings I rung to confirm them with GB energy.

Just had a call saying they were green star energy, asked for our meter reading, my husband told them we would do it online, she said why can’t you do it now, I told him to put the phone down, as our meter reading wasn’t due until a December. Why can’t these people be stopped from making these phone calls. I have been told by our energy company, they know these calls are being made, but can’t do anything about them.

The number belongs to Lowri Beck Services Ltd. They are are utillities company based in Wigan, UK. They read gas, water and electricity meters on behalf of most energy suppliers and also supply and fit new meters including smart ones. They are a legit company.

Yes, I believe this is Lowri Beck Services Ltd. Incomplete message left but evidently about meter readings. Like other contributors, these are given on-line, so an unnecessary call. Beware, 0844 is a premium rate number, so may be costly to call back anyway.

I has a missed call and checked to see it was the smart meter installer, Lowri Beck, so I called back. They had called me to rearrange an appointment, and the call was trasndered and I was put on hold. I got charged £1.25 to listen to their on hold music. I hung up after no one answered. Not sure if its a scam, but certainly bad to be using a premium 0844 number for what should be free customer support.

They are a legit company, Lowri Beck, contracted by your energy supplier (in my case Co-operative Energy) asking for gas and electricity readings. I just wish they would SAY they are from Lowri Beck though rather than using a form of words which implies, misleadingly, that they are from the energy supplier itself. It just causes suspicion.

I told them I email them every month and she demanded they needed another one. I told them that they weren't from Bristol energy and not to call me back. I have now blocked their number. The caller told they were calling from Green Network Energy (who supply my gas and electric). They asked for a metre reading, But as I wasn't home I wasn't able to give it. I said I normally submit my readings online. They said they sometimes calls to get an on the stop reading. I asked him to call me back when I was home. I then called my supplier who told me it wasn't them calling and it was suspected fraudulent call. Be aware!
