Left a message wanting to confirm an application with Citi. Total scam

They called me and asked if I recently moved. And tried to get me to add an phone password for security but I didn't feel safe so I told them I'd call them back

It was started as a robo call and then after few beeps - a person started talking although didn't sound authentic or proper Citibank call. Not sure what they are trying do.. although tried to talk about a pending transaction that I have between Citibank and a different financial institution. I really grew suspicious as I have been put on hold on and off and I was called several times. I'm glad I didn't provide any personal info and stopped answering the call.

Couldn't tell me why a TN number was showing up on my caller ID.

The caller represented himself as Citibank rep. He knew my credit card was cancelled the night before due to the fraudulent charge. Asked for the address where to send the new card and then said something Citibank would never ever do - he said that he would activate my card so that I won't have to do it. This number is fraud!

The same person's voice called from different number, saying wants to discuss some recent activities about Home Depot credit card. I never have had any Home Depot credit card. I just ignored her.

Tried to get my social security and address

Got a call from this number telling me it was Citi fraud, following up on fraudulent charges. This has already been taken care of, and the number they called is not listed with Citibank as a contact number any longer. Sophisticated scammers, these days.

A woman called saying that she is from Citibank. She tried to get information about my other bank account. Definitely fraud!

Human called from Tennessee pronouncing full first and last name

Imposed as a Citibank and tied to got my voice imprint.

Scammer, asked for personal information and tried to fish for my SSN.

Obvious fraud. I don't want to disclose how I can tell. I'm sure these losers will read this and I don't want to point out their f-ups and what stupid a-holes they are!Get a job!!!

Received call on Christmas day (morning) so seemed like a scam but then again, there's a lot of activity on Christmas eve. Call was difficult to understand. Broken female voice stated was from a ... (?) protection. Please return call with the code they left and that the account might be frozen.

They called today saying they wanted to check on possible fraudulent activity on our card. Didn't sound quite right - Called Citibank to check on recent activity and there was nothing for the past 10 days. Talked to a rep there and didn't get far, but there was not a problem. THIS WAS A FRAUDULANT CALL

Said she was from Sears credit card and there was fraudulent activity on my credit card of which I don't have anymore

Caller ID said CITI but also possible SCAM. A real-time female voice (not automated) left a voicemail on our business # calling herself 'Consumer Protection Dept of VISA' and wanting us to call back 'and have your credit card ready.' Caller had Asian accent and stumbled over the script. Obviously a scam but they're using real people to make the call, and targeting business #s, so a higher-level scam.

Saying fraud but not legitimate

recieved a suspicious call from this number, caller id said 'Citi Group'

They started calling me using a Kansas City number. I blocked that number, and now they used this one. They don't leave a message.

Scam caller left a message asking about my Citibank credit card for unusual activity. Bunch of scammers.

Person stating that they had questions about my Best Buy Credit Card application and needed me to give them my ssn to verify my identity.

Called about an application recently filed. Very hard to understand and almost sounds like citibank but didn't trust it.

Can't understand

Legitimate Citi credit card application processor. They left the number 888-201-4523 for me to call back. I called that number after verifying with Citi myself that is indeed the cc application processing customer service number.

Stolen money from my bank account

Scam!!I received a call about a citi shell card opened under my name. They asked me to verify my ssn and date of birth. I told them that I have credit monitoring in place and that everything was clear. They knew my home city and my old phone number but they did not know my new address. They were trying to get my information.

Called to say there was fraud on a credit card that I had just applied for. I don't have the physical card yet so how can there be fraud on it!?

I was called and told that she's with citibank and wanting to get more information for my credit card application. Then have me to call 800-825-0393 with case number. It was definitely a scam. But how did they know I was applying a credit card and my name/phone#?

This guy call a very late of day stateting he's calling from Macy's account manager and try to get my Macy's account information.

Received call with voicemail from 433-467-6460 Johnson City, Tn asking me to call 888-201-4523 with case number and pin to call back about my city bank application. I'm glad I looked it up prior to calling back. Now I can block number!!

Claimed I owed money on a Best Buy card. Never had one and they even provided a zip code that was not mine. They are scamming peopke

The criminal who called me about scam bank fraud wants to be caught, have their hands chopped off, all teeth extracted, tongue cut out, and bankrupt to pay everyone they called. Then put them in prison & their inmates should be rewarded for killing them because they are,garbage.

Didn't answer, but a long, empty message was left. I checked here and see that I should block the number. Thanks all!

Tried to get my information, asked for my phone number after calling me to send a text message verification code. Then asked to verify what type of card I had and to verify the last 4 digits. Got upset when I wouldn't give the cvv code on the back and then hung up and told me I could call the number on the back of the card.

Called to confirm a transfer to Citi from another bank, knew the amount being transfered and wanted to confirm birth date, address, etc. They did a 3 way call with the other bank customer service while I verified the account information.

She said she was calling from best buy credit. She said someone was trying to apply best buy credit card under my name so she needed my information to investigate. Total scammer. I did't provide any info

Ashley called me fron Johnson City, TN saying she was from Citicards. She tried telling me that she was investigating a credit card fraud case. The phone line was not crisp. She did have a nice Southern voice and had my full name and last four digits of an old credit card. However, I grew suspect after 1) i never filed a case and 2) she kept asking me for additional personal information and 3) Citicards also does not have any operations in TN. This was a higher tech scam. Beware!
