You are WRONG. I received a call on my home phone today and, as always, check online for any phone I do not recognize. I called Wells Fargo directly to inquire about the phone number and confirmed that IT IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH WELLS FARGO IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM! Out of curiosity I called the number back and put in the phone number they called when their automated answering service prompted. It asked for me to verify an account that is my husband's business account; my husband is a store owner. MY HUSBAND AND I DO NOT HAVE OUR PRIVATE HOME NUMBER ASSOCIATED WITH OR DOCUMENTED ANYWHERE IN OUR WELLS FARGO INFORMATION FOR OUR BUSINESS! The automated service then proceeded to ask for zip code information which prompted me to hang up.My husband and I are VIGILANT with checking all of our accounts on a daily basis. If there were any suspicious activity occurring, we would see it and immediately handle the problem by calling the bank and reporting it.

Don't task an internet thread search for banking advise. Just call your bank at the number you have for them, or better yet go into your bank if possible. Just never open attachments or reply to texts till you know for a fact with whom you're dealing with.

received call fro 1-866-201-0095. as always i google check any number I do not recognize. some reports say this is Wells Fargo but after checking on the Wells fargo website for fraud department this number is nowhere to be seen. it seems to me if it was a legitimate call from wells fargo that a message would be left. no message was left. i believe this to be a phishing call

This is a legitimate WF fraud call but I wish they showed this number on their website. They did leave a voicemail after I did not pick up. They provided recent charge information on my credit card that only WF would know about. Someone may know about one of the charges but they asked about four charges at a variety of places including PayPal. Did NOT ask for my card number or SS.

Wells Fargo told me that this number is NOT in their database as legit callers. If there truly is a problem with your checking/savings/cc account it will be noted when you login online and you can handle it that way. They don't need to chase you down by calling. They put your account on hold. If you need to use it, they know you'll call to get it resolved.

While it may have been a legitimate call for you (and if so, why did you look the number up?) but it may not be for someone else. As Slim posted above, phone numbers can be spoofed to look like they're from a legitimate caller when in fact it's a scammer trying to steal your information. The smart thing to do, as you did, is to NOT give them information but hang up and call the number on the back of your card.

Received a call from this number saying it was Wells Fargo fraud dept. Assumed it was a scam and hung up. Just to be sure, I called WF Customer Service. They had indeed called to alert me of two questionable charges. This is a legit call.

I received a call from (800) 201-0095 on 6/19/17. Automated machine identified itself as WF Fraud. Called the number on the back of my card to speak with WF concierge. Unless the number is somehow able to reroute my call to WF back to the above number it's a legit call but the number that shows on your phone and is left in the VM is the direct line to the fraud department. Concierge handled it from their end. Asked to confirm address, mother's maiden name and DOB. Freaks me out that some people are saying they received a call from the same number but are 'sure' it's fraud.

NOT Wells Fargo. I got a voicemail from this number. They said there was activity on my W-F account. I have not used this card in months, and have even shredded it, but still get statements (zero balance). So I called the phone number on my statement (800-642-4720) and they said there was NO ACTIVITY on my account. So the message from this number was totally fraudulent!!! Please don't call them back and give any info!! I almost did, because I was travelling at the time I got the message and didn't have W-F real phone numbers. The call sounds authentic, but don't believe them!

I answered the phone. A lady asked for my husband by name, 'Hello, isb(6) there?' And I replied, 'No, who is this?' She hung up. He doesn't go by that name and the number calling is another state area code with a name that is unfamiliar.

I got a call from 866-201-0095 on 6-14-17 from this number. They claimed to be calling from Paypal, saying there was a problem with my account. They also asked for a different person than me. But, I knew they were a fraud. I just hung up on them.

This is NOT Wells Fargo. It is a Phishing scam trying to obtain your account information. DO NOT offer any information about any accounts!

I received a call from this number. I didn't answer and the message that was left stated it was from WF fraud department. Instead of calling this number, I called the number on the back of my card. Yes, it was a legitimate call from WF informing me of some suspicious activity on my card.

In my experience, this turned out to be a fraudulent call. I called Wells Fargo - it was a scam. I think the people claiming this is legit are the scammers

It's wells fargo's fraud department. I didn't answer, but I had just made a bit online purchase and had a hunch it might be them. So i called the number on the back of my card instead of the 0095 number and they confirmed that it was them calling me.

Showed up as 'WELLSFARGO' on my caller ID from the apparent 'Wells Fargo Fraud Team' asking me to call back on 866-201-0095 — I don't, and have never had a Wells Fargo account, so assuming it's spam/phishing.

Called by this number. Don’t know who it is.
