I have received two calls from Tabitha in the past week, claiming to be from the CRA, at 1-866-229-0827 X 5726. I just got off the phone with a man at the CRA - I called their main line, which I got from the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. After some digging, he confirmed that a Tabitha is a call officer for the CRA who is trying to get in contact with me. So, it appears that the number is legitimate.

There are cases where the CRA will call you. If you take the time and call the number on the CRA website they will confirm that this is one of their numbers from a Quebec office. This is a legitimate CRA collections number and NOT a scam

Received a call from this number and thought it was a scam acting as Canadian Revenue agency agency. I ended up calling the number and phone number extension that was given by the representative during my first call. I asked him questions and continued with caution because I know many scammers are pretending to be the Canadian Revenue agency. This phone number actually was the Canadian Revenue Agency looking for a payment!! They also called using the number 18195345998 . Hope this helps.

SCAM!!! Reçu un appel de ce numéro, un certain Jean-Philippe Clermont se présente comme appelant de Revenu Canada, désire valider mon adresse pour envoyer des documents. Je n'ai pas donné d'infos disant que j'allais rappeler. C'est un scam, revenu canada n'a jamais eu besoin de m'envoyer quoi que ce soit!

This number called from 18195345998 and than gave me 18662290827 ext 5799 to call back to. I don't think revenue canada uses different numbers to contact you. He asked for my info if he has my info he should ask me if its right.
