claimed to be key bank. Asked for the last 4 of my social security number. Had a semi correct but incorrect name for me. Asked for the last 4 of my social security number. I asked for a number to call back and they gave me the correct number for the key bank call center. The key bank call center said that there was no record. This was an actual fraud attempt.

This comes across on caller ID as Key Bank, but is not! Have verified this numerous times with Key. Ask for personal info for 'verification' before they will tell you what is it regarding. Phishing Scam, For sure. Shut this number down.

Total fraud! I read the reviews and cannot believe this number has remained associated with Key Bank for almost a year now despite being scammers. Do not give any personal information to your 'bank' or any other company unless YOU CALL the number you know to be theirs!

I just had the same thing happen as many of you. The person wanted the last 4 digits of my ss no. , my birthday, address. I refused to give it and said if key Bank had a problem with my account they could email me. I was told to call the bank than. They were professional sounding even as they asked me to call the bank. I think this has to be a scam. I worry about Key Banks security however, after my call and reading all the other calls. Does anyone know about security breaches at Key Bank?

overseas heavy accent- they don't tell me reason of call unless I verified/provided all my information. I told them I went to the bank and they told me there is no reason of calls (lie) and then she said that was the reason of this call. I haven't been in any location for a looong time.

DO NOT give this guy any information.. he preyed on my 89 year old mother who has all her accts with key bank.. he now has her SS #.. I have tried to tell mom not to answer his calls but she associates him with key bank.. SHE ALSO HAS DEMENTIA and unfortunately I can not block his number on a great call phone.

The person knew my name and then I had an account with KeyBank. They said that they were representing a company on behalf of Key Bank. I could not understand the name and when I asked her to say the name of the company again it was unintelligible. She had a very thick accent.She would not answer any of my questions until she 'confirmed my identity.' That was the end of the phone call for me! If anything she needs to confirm who she is!
