Asked if we would be closed on Christmas- Said Yes. Not sure what they are going to use this information for but they were looking for us to say yes.

A man's voice said he was calling from Google Maps on a recorded line. He asked if we were open on Christmas day. I said 'no'. He replied; I'm sorry what was that? I hung up.

Asked what hours we are open. I said I update our hours on Google My Business. There was a pause and then he said OK, thanks. This is the second time I have had this type of call. I can't imagine that Google would call businesses when they are encouraging people to use Google My Business.

Sounded like an automated response system. Did say it was google maps, asked if I was closed due to covid, I said my hours were up to date and didn't need to be changed. Not answering my questions in regards of who you are and what sites are being referring to... I felt I was attempted of being scammed and I got argumentive when I was not in the process of getting proper answers of questions I asked for from everything being referred to. Fishy Activity claiming they were Google Maps. Call took place as of 5:18 PM, February 25, 2021.

Of course, it is scam. Google ranking, SEO, health insurance - whatever scam flavor they can think of each day of their POS worthless life. These POS just can't help themselves when they are able to change their #s with help from phone cos. Block 1 # and 55 wake up from their POS graves. # blocked. May they rot and burn in hell.

Jesus Christ. This number has been spoofing me for at least the last two years. The reason I know this is because two years ago I block this number and recently I unblocked it only to have it call me again and spoof me. Something needs to be done about this and fast.

Called our business location 38 times today, so far.Yesterday, called 19 times. The day before, we lost count.Whatever robocalling software is clearly having trouble with understanding the blocking in place. We can see the calls come in, but never have to deal with the caller.

Caller said he was with Google Automated Services, which is odd since it was a live person. Wanted to confirm our hours and when I asked him why, kept saying he was an Automated Service. When I said he could find that information online, he was annoyed and said 'thanks for helping'. Yeah, he didn't pass the gut test.

Man called from Google Maps asking if business was open on New Years Day. Replied with 'We don't open on New Years'. He then asked 'So you're closed on New Years Day?' before I was even done replying. I stayed quiet as I realized this was an attempt at getting a 'Yes' out of me. He then said 'Got it, thanks' and hung up despite not me saying anything. This is not a real man but a recording.

This seemed like a live call but with the responses the 'person' gave me, it seemed like they only picked up a word or two. At 4:15pm, he asked me if our office was closed due to current health conditions and when I replied no, he then asked me what time our office opened and closed today. I told him we opened at 10am this morning and would be closing in an hour. He then asked 'So your office is closed due to the current health conditions?' I said no and he said 'Mhmm.' That's when I hung up.

They said they were calling from Google Maps to verify our hours for Christmas. I said we are closed on Christmas and he repeated back, so you are closed on Christmas. I was not thinking and said 'Yes we are closed on Christmas'. I guess he got the word he wanted so he said ok thanks and hung up. Got me thinking that it was a scam and all he wanted was for me to say Yes to something. I guess I fell for it.

Filthy Christ. I have gotten calls from these scammers at least 20 times. Finally I'm going to actually put them on my block list which is something I should've done along time ago. I don't understand how this number can get so many complaints and the FTC is not acting on this. It's a real shame

It was google maps, sounded like a real person, asked if my business was closed for Christmas. Then carrying a short conversation said this is automated call. I've never heard one like that. I know it's a scam, but I get Google map scam calls everyday that sound automated, this definitely fooled me.

I got a call from 650-206-5555 but caller id only listed the #. The caller, male voice, stated he was an automated system calling to check our business hours. I said, 'it's already listed' and he said 'ok' and restated that he's an automated system. I stated that the caller id only listed the # and did not say it was Google. He hung up. Could have been AI but damn I'm on scam alert at all times.

update: I just found this on my Google Business Dashboard:'Google Assistant calls -Let customers use Google Assistant to book with you. Also, quickly update your listing by getting occasional calls to confirm your details. Learn more. ' This was followed by a checkbox to turn this option on or off. I believe it is on by default.
