I received a call to my mobile today at around 2.36 pm in Indian standard time and by mistake I have received the call .

This number called me, claiming to be from google map. Checking the internet now and found out the number is a scam. Do i have any reason to be bothered?

This man claimed to be from google maps mentioning a address and asking me to verify it. I asked him to email me officially what he wanted to know and he said it was a call only verification. I think its very inappropriate to call and behave in this manner. Why would I confirm any personal info to a stranger because he claims it is official. Very odd behaviour

Received a call 6502532000 asked about my company and the address I asked who he was and was told Google Maps. I looked up the number on google bunch of stuff came up I Called it back and it says that it is Google. Scam Or Legit?If Google cant protect themselves we are all screwed. I get calls everyday about my google listing I finally gave in and pressed 1 then they kept me on hold for over 15 min what is going on over there

Indian man claiming to be google maps. Asked for local landmarks near my business. When I gave a landmark he asked next to, opposite or close by. When I replied opposite (which I’m not) he hung up straight away. Very odd

I just got a call from thus number; (650) 253-2000 Mountain View, CA. It was an Indian woman asking if I had a storefront. Very bizarre. She wouldn't give me any information regarding why she was asking or what company she worked with. I did however update my google listing yesterday. I have no idra how relevant that is. If this is a legitimate google contracted representative they are extrely un professionaland google should review their choice.

This number called me 3 consecutive times between 6am and 7am this morning. From searching the internet several people report that it is a Google validation or sales call. I have a Google Ad Words Express campaign that I edited yesterday so this seems like it could be related. I called Google Ad Words Express and they don't know anything about this number and their system doesn't reflect anybody calling me this morning.

If you have recently updates your business address with google maps, than this is why you are seeing this number of your caller ID. At first I didn't believe they were really calling from google, but then I found this number on their Q&A page, so it seems legit.

Woman wanting to know our business address, 'are you on the corner?', was also her question. Never identified herself at all. Our caller ID showed 650-253-2000/Google Inc. It was a live call.

this is a scam claiming to be google maps business. avoid like the plague they really are.

My husband & I run a small B&B out of our home. We also have an antique shop, so we get several business calls (some scams) mostly legit though. I got 2 calls from this # this afternoon. Missed the first one but answered the second with our usual business greeting. She asked if the address she had was correct which it was. Before I could ask any questions she hung up. Just struck me as pretty unprofessional. No changes to my Google so I don't know......

I have been getting these calls also. I am located in Canada, Ontario.. These guys with an heavy accent calls approx: 5 times a day with a different version of services... these are the 2 different numbers calling:650-253-2000 and 239-205-4843. If anyone knows what to do please let me know!!!!

She pretends to be google. She wants to verify my phone number. The next day I start receiving unlimited robocalls. Waking up my baby. No more sleep. No more able to complete any household task. I changed my phone number. But this is a big trouble because i have to call all organizations working with me banks friends and .....paperwork just to tell them i changed the phone number. Not to mention all the APPS THAT DOES NOT WORKS ANYMORE!!!!!!! TERRIBLE.

I got a call from this number. the girl has a very heavy india accent..after I talked to her our website is gone from google place.It is really sucks.

Person called. Asked if I was my old website (closed a month ago). said he was with Google Maps. I said I would call back. He told me to call 650-253-0000. Instead I called 2000. Recording said it is not an incoming line.

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAMCalls everyday morning and eve. Finally answered and it was an girl from India who wanted to help with my MSFT OS. Called num back and a recording wants a authorization code. This is a huge scam, a violation of NOCALL list and for some non techie folk the process can be a disaster if you let them remote in to your machine. They will wreck you system and steal your private information.

Caller does not leave message. Does not seem to know they have been transferred to voicemail. very irritating as the person starts humming and singing before finally hanging up.

Asked me if my business was on Grubhub to which I replied yes it is and she said good to know and then proceeded to have a conversation in Indian to someone else in the room with her.

Indian girl. Oddly enough asked me about a small shop across the street. It was a kind of temporary business which isn't there anymore. When I told her that she said 'it's closed right'. So I think she's probably really researching for Google but she didn't say where she was from. Didn't think too much of it but looked up the number anyway. Seems inocuous but distracting nonetheless.

Got a call from'google maps' who wanted to updated my listing...but had no information regarding this business at all....how can you update anything without information to start with? Heavy Indian accent and had to have him repeat things constantly. Told him we do not share information over the phone like this.

Seems legit. Indian woman attempting to verify the address and type of business. I verified our address and advised her on the type of business. Immediately the type of business was changed on Google.
