Received a call from this number 800-514-0427 and was told they were from PennyMac and they had been reviewing my mortgage loan and they had a savings offer for me. I asked if they were PennyMac or a subsidary another loan company and they confirmed they were from PennyMac. I allowed them to transfer me to a loan agent who immediately told me the call was being recorded. I stated that I was also recording on my end. The man on the other end of the phone told me I could not record the call. I told him if this concerned my mortgage and my loan being changed in any way that I would record the call. He again told me I could not record the call and got mad and hung up on me. So I'm assuming this is a scam since they will not allow me to record the call. So you can see if they will allow you to record their call or not. Good luck. I think I will wait until Monday and call PennyMac myself and ask why they're calling to refinance an already very low interest rate.

PennyMac calling about refinancing my home. They own my current mortgage. I got the caller's name and told him I feel more comfortable calling the main PennyMac number and getting transferred. He gave me his name and that's what I did. Seems legit that it's PennyMac.

PennyMac calling with a refinance offer on my VA home loan. Didn't pick up the phone, but the guy left a polite message, identified who is was and with whom, the purpose of the call, and for me to call if I'm interested. They call every once in a blue moon. Since PennyMac is my mortgage handler, I suppose this is technically a valid call from a valid caller, since I do business with them. But, it was really a sales call to sell me on refinancing my VA loan.

PennyMac. They call repeatedly to ask if I want to refinance my home. I have refinanced with PennyMac before but NEVER AGAIN. It is a BAIT AND SWITCH. On the DAY BEFORE CLOSING PennyMac sent me revised paperwork showing a higher interest rate and a higher down payment than they initially offered. WATCH OUT!

This number just called....didn't aswer. From comments I learned it was PennyMac. Thank you all. They now have my mortgage but If I wish to investigate I'll call them and NOT respond to an unsolicited phone call.

I'm not a fan of cold calls, I'm not a fan of being transferred, and I'm especially not a fan of giving out my social (or even the last four), but I wasn't about to continue that conversation with that last one.If you want to refinance, go in with your bad self. But personally, this lowers my opinion of PennyMac.

This is indeed PennyMac and not some spoof. I've had the same notices emailed to me as well as on my account when I log in. 'You can potentially save x amount!!' So the call wasn't surprising or suspicious to me. Just a tad annoying. If I was interested, I'd call them considering they've advertised the hell out of it to me already.

So why help the criminals by posting about your call being legitimate? It has no impact on a legitimate business, only the shady ones and thats what we want to expose. Called this morn' - no message. Per past input this is Penny Mac or their calling service. They called yesterday from a different number and did leave a message that it was penny mac seeking to speak with me about re-fi options. Coincidently my mortgage is with Penny Mac. If I choose to will call them directly and not respond to an unsolicited 800 call.

PennyMac Loan Services calling. It is not a debt collection call, but a call that is searching for you to re-finance your existing home mortgage.

Claims to be Penny mac loans. I block the phone number everytime and they call back on a different number. Each time they leave a voice mail, its a different person and the message sounds scripted and not genuine.I will never answer an unsolicited call. If I need the service I will call them. I dont like the hassle of saying no to a sales person because they continuously talk to try to convince you to do business. I've told them no before but they keep calling. Thats why I block the number.

After receiving a call from this number today we called Pennymac and asked if this was one of their numbers. Kevin said it was from their promotional department and Tommy was a loan officer. Probably trying to refinance our 15 year loan that we'll have paid off in 5 years. They want to make more off of us.
