Be sure you get the name of whoever is calling you, and call the number back. You'll get a different operator, and if you are polite, they will get things straightened out for you.I've had a lot of medical bills the past few years, and I've dealt with a lot of debt collection agencies. My experience with this number began negatively--they were calling my dad, and harassing him about my debt, without ever having previously contacted me. I called them back at the number on my dad's caller ID, and I spoke with a woman named Carol. After giving her the name of the guy who had been harassing my dad, we discovered that they were calling to collect on a bill from several years ago--a bill for which I had applied to the hospital's charity program. Apparently, my charity paperwork had been lost or misfiled, and the application never went through. Instead of harassing me for money, Carol offered to mail me the information needed to re-submit that paperwork to the hospital. She walked me through the process of filing for charity assistance to ensure that I would be able to gather and submit all of the appropriate information. She was very sweet, and very professional.
