I received a phone call from this number in the middle of the night. 3am. There appeared to be a young girl screaming.

I just received a Auto voice call saying it was a FREE CALL from an inmate at a correctional facility. Please press 1 to accept or 2 to decline the call. I did not answer and waited to see if someone spoke. The call disconnected on its own.

Scared me to death, thinking someone in my family was in jail....

Keeps calling our business. States its a call from jail. We pressed option 6 to permanently remove our number but it doesn't work. They keep calling back. There is no human stating a name.

This number keeps valling my teens phone.

I have blocked this number, but they keep calling. Several times during the night, 1am, 5am etc. My phone still rings once even when blocked so kept me awake all night. I don't know anyone in prison or jail.

Just got 6-8 calls from this guy. Blocked number, but visual voicemail still receives messages.

I started receiving calls from this number but they were being placed against my fax number. I have received approximately 30 calls in a 24 hour period. How do I stop them. I have no family members in a correctional facility. The calls were not placed to a company but to a private fax number, used for my personal business. I am a secretary for the ILWU Federated Auxiliaries and need it for those purposes!Can you please help me stop the calls?

OK that number stating calling my house yesterday. 866-718-4777 about a love one in a correctional facility. I have no idea who it is. What are the rates?

Several people who were called report that this is a correctional facility billing company (scam). They left me a message in SPANiSH, asking me to press 'uno' or 'dos.' Many say they are trying to get families to pay for items 'bought' by inmates. I have no family member in prison as far as I know, and I am not a Spanish-speaker (well, maybe just a little). And they called on my CELL PHONE.

I received a call from this stating that it was a free call from an inmate at (name of jail and my son is in that jail). He said his name (it was his voice) and the recording said to press 1 if I accepted. I pressed 1 and the call disconnected.

So this number really is a correctional facility?

I looked this number up to see who it was, it was Securus, a free 60 sec. phone call from prison. I noticed a lot of people were saying it was a scam and things like that so I figured I'd hop on just to say it was totally legit, a family member called me from prison, free 60 sec. phone call, we spoke, it hung up, asked if I wanted to create an account, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary....

Sent to 'blocked' based on other entry. Several calls over 2-3 days. Never answered - sent to VM automatically. Any call not in my contacts goes to VM. Message basically says: 'Only recognized contacts answered. Leave message, legitimate calls will be returned.'

This phone call was at 1:30 am. Woke me up. I did not answer, but left recording to accept a free call press 1

I received a phone call from a prison and would like to know which prison it came from, the phone call was received on February 23rd 2020 at 12:19pm to my cell phone. 309-613-8176.

MY Husband is in Oshkosh correctional, and he said they just redid the phone system, but what is funny the 866 number showed up on my phone all day, then tonight it showed up blocked. Who knows. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE NEW COMPANIES NAME VERSES CORRECTIONAL BILLING SERVICES?

I don't know anyone in jail.and after pressing 1 to find out who it is, it disconnects.

Ive had multible calls and rhus guy from corectuinal facilty keeps calling.

The rates vary because you either prepay or the call billed on your regular phone bill. Either way you MUST prearrange/setup CORRECTIONAL BILLING. The rate for me like 12 cents a minute & they only allow you to talk in 15 minute intervals. Each call cost me like $1.80. I am not understand why you are getting a call IF you did NOT prearrange CORRECTIONAL BILLING. I myself had to get pre-authorized to receive calls~which is standard policy.

this is LEGIT - its from an inmate if they have credits they can make free call - i'm upset i missed the call from a family member - but this is NOT a SCAM - think about who u know that may be in prison - if u have no one then the inmate might have missed dialed - hope this helps folks clarify things - peace

Well, I happen to be sitting by the phone and let it pick up on answer. If it is my loved one, then I pick up and accept.

My brother is in jail, and we recieved a call from him at that number it is real!

I am in the telecommunication industry and if you answer these types of calls if you hang up first they will stay on the line.Depending on the central office your phone service comes from they can get dial tone back and make long distance calls that will be billed to your phone number.

Got a call from 866 718 4777 at 3:42 AM 04 August 2010. Caller ID says it is from a toll free #. Awakened from sleep nat this hour of the morning - not thinking - I pressed # 1. After hearing that it was from someone hat I did not know I hung up. I will call the phone company when their office opens to try to remove any charges and block this #. Seems like this # should ID as a call from jail and not a toll free #.

I got a call from this number; well actually 4 calls but I missed the first 3, the 4th one I hesitantly answered only to find out that it is for real. The call was Free and it connected me to a co-worker who was REALLY in jail and needed help. The company is Evercom/T-netix Correctional facility billing service. At first a recording came on when I answered and said I had a call from XXXXX (whom I knew), the company was identified as Evercom and said that XXXXX was in Jail, also that it is a free call and to press 1 to connect to the conversation. I thought it was a telemarking scam but I pressed 1 and was connected with a co-worker who was really in jail and needed help getting out. I'm not saying every call from this number is not a scam; just that mine was not. But they did give me the persons name right away at the beginning of the recording.

Stop making random calls to people who don't know you & DON'T want to know you.Ever hear of 'Don't call us, we'll call you'??????????

Keep getting calls from these idiots whoever they are. We have caller ID so I do not pick up. But it is getting annyoing. Wonder if we can file a complaint?

i got a call from this number and i soon as i heard a recording mentioning a correctional institute i hung up. it has to be a hoax as i live in canada and have no relatives or friends living ir travelling in the US, never mind in jail.

I believe although the number still comes up 866-718-4777 it still is Correctional Billing (probably a different division or subsidiary company) I say this because I called that number back & it is Correctional Billing. The whole thing is confusing. It really sucks that we are forced into using specific billing services

These calls are not collection calls they are from a CORRECTIONAL FACILITY. I would like to stop them, THE SOONER THE BETTER.

About 2.00 for a 20 minute call if you are in Wisconsin and your loved one calls you collect.Oh to the people who do not want anyone calling collect just listen to the prompt message and press the one that says never allow them to call your house again, then press that number and NOONE can try to call you from the Jail again. Atleast that is how it was done for one of my sisters.

I got the same call. I have friends that lack judgement sometimes, so I thought it was one of them in jail. Was some guy asking me to call someone, and he rambled, trying to keep me on the phone. Must have gotten a percentage of the charges.

I just got a call from this number. I live in NY on Long Island. I do not know any men that are in jail. I couldn't understand the persons name they said was calling and the said it was a collect call so I immediately hung up....whats up with this?

Received 3 calls from this number in the space of about 20 minutes, around 3:30PM CDT on 29JUN2010.It was a robo call on behalf of a correctional facility to take a collect call. The first time it said the call was from 'Bill', but we hung up. The second time we didn't answer. The third time it was from 'Elvis'; we hung up again.We don't know anyone in any correctional facilities, and don't know anyone named 'Elvis'.
