They called to 'confirm' my recent loan process and they wanted to verify my personal information. I didn't have a loan so they were just trying to find someone that did to scam them.

If your mortgage was sold or transferred to a new servicer you should have received two letters. One from Capital One and one from Rushmore. Everything you need to know should have been in those two letters.

They are using rushmore phone number and name, to tell you you won a cruise roadside assistance a medical alert bracelet. It is someone using their information to scam us. I called Rushmore back and they did not try to contact me, it’s a scam !

They are not a mortgage company but work instead to collect mortgage payments for investment companies that bought up mortgages back in the 2000's when the Republicans first allowed them to do that. You have a 15 day grace period, but they will call you everyday starting on the date due 'as a courtesy' to you.

Rushmore is legit, and we are not in a collections situation. Capital One bought out our original mortgage company about seven years ago. In May 2018, Cap One (who wanted OUT of the single-family home-lending game) sold our mortgage to UMB Bank. UMB is using Rushmore Loan Management Services LLC to service our payments under the original loan terms. In all their postal mailings regarding the loan transition, Rushmore clearly identifies themselves as a 'Debt Collector', so it's just their line of business.They called us once from this 888 number about the new account---courteous rep, but Customer Service Dept. seemed to be lacking (couldn't answer all our questions, despite being on hold for extended periods). We will be refinancing with our local credit union.
