I think you may have names and roles reversed. RBS, or Royal Bank of Scotland, and its US subsidiary Citizens Bank are original creditors and not collection agencies. It is likely that Firstmark is acting as the collector. If you are alleged to owe to any of them, ignoring the problem will not end it, and will only worsen matters. You will have to raise your own dispute, and this is best done on paper via USPS Certified with return card. Your credit ranking is not the priority here. Your goals should be to avoid a creditor lawsuit and to punish the collection agency if it violates your rights. If you're not the alleged debtor, send a ''cease communication'' notice, again via USPS CMRR. Given Firstmark's concentration on student loan debt, they will probably never stop pestering you until put on written notice.

Got this call today-left a generic message asking me to call them back. They gave no personal information to prove that they knew who they were calling. I will not be calling them back.

Same issue as everyone listed so far. You'd think collectors want to talk to you/ leave a message, try and convince you that eating isn't as important as paying them. But no, nothing.

I answered with our standard business greeting and didn't hear anything on the other end. Just when I thought it was a silent call, I went to hang up and I heard a *click* then noisy background. I hung up before I could ask who was calling though.

They've called me a couple of times leaving a recorded message saying, 'this is urgent' and 'please call withing the next two business days.' Firstmark Services. According to their web site: Firstmark Services specializes in servicing privately funded education loans, outside the Federal Financial Aid programs.

i received many calls from rbs citizens, a collection agency for firstmark services wanting my acct number or social security number. my credit is over 820 and i don't want it screwed up-better to write a letter or just ignore it?
