This was from my local Barclays. Normally wouldn't answer an unknown number but I thought I recognised it in some context. They were checking on a transaction that I had made earlier in the week as they had a problem with their tills. They did not ask for any personal or account details other than for me to confirm the transaction.

I suspect this is a scammer number disguised as genuine HSBC number. A call from this number sounded exactly the same as some previous scam call which trick me into giving them the last ten digits of my credit card number and then fooled me to give them the one time passcode to consent to a transaction.
