Be careful - the number is a legit Bank of America number, but the caller may be a scammer trying to get you to pick up the phone. On 11/12/09 I received a recorded message asking to confirm a change of address to my B of A account, leaving 1 800 432 1000 as the number to call back. I had not submitted any change of address request and promptly called B of A to ask what was up. The customer rep told me their records showed they had not made the call or left the message. He told me there are scammers who call people, claim to be from B of A, and then try to get account number information, PINs, etc., on the pretext of 'confirming' the information. The scammers' thinking may be that if they leave a legit number in a message, the next time they call the target will talk to them. The bottom line is, don't give any of this information over the phone unless it's in a call you dialled yourself.
