Claimed to be a debt collector working for the company I work at. We have employee credit accounts that, if remain unpaid, get taken out of our checks. I admit I haven't been able to pay mine, but only because I was laid off due to covid. The company took it out of final check, as I expected, and never contacted me about it since. Even told me I'd be welcome back after things calm down. Now I'm getting this call from a 'James' claiming he's from Transworld, Inc. He then asked me to confirm my address? Oh hell no, NEVER give you information over the phone, unless you know the caller personally! I asked him what the reason was for the call, and he kept telling me 'I cant release the information about the account until you confirm your information.' Release information? I asked what the reason for the call was because I've never heard of this company *facepalm*. If they're legit, you'll get a letter, not an phone call.
