I'm usually very good at identifying scammers, but his call sounded (almost) legit to me because they identified me by my Legal Name, which I ONLY use on social security and medical records. Also, as millions of other Seniors, I am overdue for picking up a prescription. When I called them back I got the automated system and it seemed 'off' to me so I hung up without giving them any info. Glad for the additional details here.

Received phone message from alleged CVS CareMark, who I never deal with. Same message rec'd as the others, wanting me to return their call to 877-766-9481 along with a five digit extension. No doubt a scammer who in my humble opinion, should be tarred and feathered like all cons artists in the good old days. SCAMMER!

I called the number back and was answered with something about banking. Thought I dialed wrong, so redialed. Got the cvs caretaker about precriptions. Didn't need the extension number. Asked if it was me. Press 1 for yes. 2 for no. Asked my birth year. I hung up.

Automated message stating my RX was over due. They had my first and last name and pronounced it correctly. I do not deal with CVS Caremark My last name is unusual and is frequently mispronounced. Makes me wonder how and where they obtained my name. My phone is in my home for my convenience and I pay the bill. If they are going to use our phones for their business purposes then they should send us money.

Supposedly it was CVS and they needed my information to send me my new medicare card. I asked what information they had and he told me all members of family and I told him who I was, then same with address, he told me all previous addresses that would show up say in a credit report and then I was sure it was a scam.

Recording said that I was over due for a refill and to call 1-877-766-9481 and enter refill code 9527044. I do not have any prescriptions at CVS. Called our local CVS pharmacy and spoke to the Pharmacist and she confirmed I didn't have anything to refill or pick up and she agreed that it was probably a scam!

Received a message from CVS CareMark advising me a prescription needed to be refilled. I have never had a prescription filled at CVS CareMark, so I suspect it's some sort of marketing ploy. I was thinking of switching my business to CVS because they are my insurer's preferred provider, but I will not do so now.

Consider this a scam.I never use CVS, but was concerned about identity theft since the message said this call was for me, using my first name.I went to a local CVS and asked their pharmacy if they had any history for me (they said no) and if they had any way to check to see if anyone affiliated with them might have called. I don't think they did any serious checking, but they assured me that the call did not come from CVS.

Just received a message from CVS CareMart on my message machine addressing me by my first name and advising me a prescription needed to be renewed. I don't do prescriptions at CVS, so I looked up the phone number on the computer and am sure glad I saw all these remarks before making the toll free call. Thanks for the info.

I don't deal with this company although there is one in our town. VM took their message to cal 877-766-9481 and enter a 7 digit number. I know who calls me and that this was a scam and erased the message after copying the number. Always ask an unknown caller to conduct their business with you by mail iin writing. If they don't know your address, you've confirmed it's a hoax.

Left a message for my brother at our parents' phone #. He hasn't lived at their home in over 30 years. They claimed he had prescriptions that need to be refilled. He doesn't take any medications, and when he has, he didn't use CVS. I told him it sounded fishy to me. Glad I checked on line and foundthe info here.
