They called from 800-839-7416 and left a message. They claimed to be Chase fraud department and were trying to verify recent charges. The message seemed non-descript and suspect so I double checked here on this site. It seems others have experienced this same SCAM from these same numbers.

So I got an email from them. Here is the associated 'address': 626 Kangaroo, Kissimee. No sure if they are using this address as a front but there are 6 names associated with the address.

Scam call and scam email

Received an email about a nonexistent purchase on a nonexistent Chase debit card at a nonexistent gas station owned by a company that only exists in Indonesia. Said to call this phone number for support.

I received an email from JPMC Fraud Alert saying i need to confirm activity that a $1 transaction was declined at Chevron, Winter Park. Didn't click any link on the email and saw 800 number on call 888-817-8073. called and it asked for number and PIN and i hung up. forwarded the email to [email protected] for all scam/fraud emails. never click any link on the email. Went to check my account online and there was no messages from Chase. SCAMMER BEWARE.

Sent fake email with this phone number

Call announced that there was fraudulent activity on my Chase card. I don't have a credit card with Chase.

This is a legit number, it is Chase. They call from 800-839-7416 and ask you to call to 888-817-8073 to verify a recent transaction. If you go ahead and pick up the call on the next attempt, all you have to do is confirm or deny the transaction.

Called and wanted my debit card number. I got a email and found this number 1-888-817-8073

Scam emails and calls claiming to be fraud prevention from Chase

This is a phishing number, they left a voice mail stating that there was some fraudulent activity which they need to verify and gave a call back number 888-817-8073. The automated message seems very genuinePlease do not give your pin number or passwords. I called the real Chase number and verified that both numbers don't belong to them. Received the same email with the fraudulent transaction at a Winter Park, FL gas station. From email address and incorrect symbol on dollar amount confirmed this is a scam.

Scammers trying to pass off as chase

The recording sounds like a CHASE recording but no such number exists within CHASE.

They claimed they're Chase's fraud department calling to verify a transaction on my account. I called them back, they asked for the debit card, I told them I don't feel comfortable and hung up. I called Chase and asked if they know the number or whether there is log of fraudulent transactions on file (especially that I had issued an ACH the same day to a new entity) and they said no.

Was told to cal this number and discuss a fraud alert on my account. Chase.com says NEVER give out an account number pin etc. So i call this number back. First thing the recoding said was please enter your account or debit card info followed by your pin. Don't be a fool. Don't do it. 100% a scam per chase.

eMail looked very legit EXCEPT when I selected BLOCK it will tell you where it 'really' came from and it's 'Atomos.com' which is a legit electronics seller . Called the 888 number with *67 prefix to block my number and it immediately asks for your credit card info .Definitely a fraudster !!!

Received the same JPMC Fraud Alert saying, 'A transaction of $1.00 was declined at a gas station CHEVRON in WINTER PARK, FL US on Wednesday, March 17'.Knew right away it was a scam email just the way it was presented. The most troubling thing is the phone number the email provides, '- If you need to speak with us, call us at (888) 817-8073'.The automated service system sounds just like the real Chase automated service system. Except, it immediately ask for your account information.

Sounded totally legit but I checked account and everything was copasetic so I searches number on Google and came across this.

Was trying to get the information about a credit card issued by Chase claiming to be Chase. Phone number was included in the email about 'fraud protection services' to call back & confirm identity to cancel fraudulent payment.

Trying to get my chase credit card number after they stopped a 1 charge to a gas station in florida. This is a big scammer..

Called back and they asked for my debit card information and credit card account numbers to verify potential fraudulant activity. I have no pending transactions on any of my 3 credit card accounts, and have never used my debit card since I opened the account. Phoned the Chase Customer Protection center 888-745-0091 listed on their website, and they indicated this call was not from CHASE.

received an email with this phone number. the email claimed to be Chase inquiring about a potential fraud. After i looked closely at the email's 'from' address, i could instantly tell it was BS.

Got the same email as others are stating here stating, that a $1 transaction at some gas station in Winter Park , FL was made to my Chase debit/credit card. Decently legit looking email too...except I don't have a debit or credit card through Chase. ALWAYS contact your financial institution via a number you recognize to verify activity on your account, NOT the number they supply.

Said my cc was used out of state...

The message said that there may have been a fraudulent charge on my account and I needed to verify.

Pure baloney. Wish they could actually punish those doing the fraud instead of allowing them to continue
